What Rubber Tappers Want
By: Cinda Goldsby
What Is Rubber Tapping?
Rubber tapping is when you cut into a certain kind of tree to get sap for rubber. What happens is, someone cuts diagonal cuts into a Hevea Braziliensis tree. They then put a bucket at the bottom of the tree so the sap can seep into it. They then let it dry and process it to become rubber.
Rubber Tapping Doesn't Hurt The Trees.......
Letting it drip
We have to attach buckets to the tree to get the sap. This pucture shows you what it looks like.
Cuts
These are the kind of cuts we make. They have to be diagonal so the sap will drip into the bucket.
Skill
Its hard to cut a tree the way you want it! This is how we work!
Save The Rainforests!!
We want to preserve the rain forest because it gives us work and jobs and money. We don't hurt the trees at all! The more that the loggers cut down, the less rubber we get! Stop cutting down the trees! We need these jobs to survive.
