Red Ribbon Week & Bullying Prevention Month
October is Bullying Prevention Month!!!
Please see the picture above for some fun activities you can share with your students and their families to celebrate both. A flyer for each of your students will be placed in your mailboxes to go home 10/18.
On Monday, October 23rd students will be receiving Bullying Prevention Month hyper-color pencils from the office! Please feel free to supplement the ideas above with your own and teach your students about saying no to drugs as well as treating others with kindness!
Hispanic Heritage Month
Sofia has created some really great flyers to send home with families about our Hispanic Heritage Gallery Walk for parents on 10/24 from 2:30-3:00. If you get RSVPs back from parents, please send names to the office so Cathy and Jen can print name tags for the badges.

Parent Teacher Conferences
Blood Drive
As you can imagine, blood supplies across the country are being depleted quickly, and additional blood is needed. Our next Blood Drive is scheduled for Tues., Nov. 28th, from 3:30-7:00, in the elementary gym. At this time, all Big Hollow staff can schedule an appointment at www.lifesource.org.
Please consider helping us reach our target to collect 30 pints of blood!
In addition to receiving a jeans coupon and free custard, all staff participants' names will be entered into a raffle to win a Warrior Cafe Lunch Certificate valued at $12 or three Big Hollow lunches (Thanks Mrs. Longo!).
Thank you for helping us help others!

Recycling- PLEASE READ!!!
This year we will be enhancing our recycling program. We need your help! There will be new recycling containers placed in your classrooms. We need to avoid throwing items in the garbage if they can be recycled.
Students will need some help determining what is recyclable and what is not when placing items in your classroom bins. Attached is a flyer that I was hoping you could all share with your students on Tuesday to help facilitate this.
Every night, we will be asking the cleaning company to empty your classroom bins into the large recycling bins in the pods. Those will then be taken to the bins outside in back of the school.
