October 18, 2021

Dear Beal Families,

Happy Monday after a beautiful fall weekend! This past Friday marked our soft end to our 'first six weeks of school' and we are excited about the growth of our students as they are comfortably navigating their new building, making great friends and connections, and settling into routines that will help with their academic, social, and emotional development. It's clear that our students own their building and are beginning to own their learning!

Fall For Beal Direct Giving Campaign!

The Beal Parent Teacher Organization has been hard at work this year on our mission to build community, provide fun educational enrichment and social opportunities for our students, fund programs, and support our dedicated school staff.

To continue to provide the support our students and staff need, we need your help! Please make a tax-deductible donation today!

Donate online at or send a check written out to “Beal PTO” in your student’s backpack! Watch for a flyer coming home this week with more information!

Our Scholastic Book Fair is here!

The Beal PTO is excited to host first Scholastic book fair from Monday October 18th until October 26th. This week, each class will spend some time at the fair to browse the books and build some excitement about reading. They will have fun with a fair scavenger hunt, and create a book wish list, which they will then bring home at the end of the day. Purchasing books through our book fair is a great way to support your student's love of reading and support the Beal PTO's fundraising efforts at the same time.

How to order:

• Send the wish list back to school with your clearly indicated book choices

• Email with your book selection

How to pay:

•Set up an e-Wallet account for your student on our fair website. This method works like a gift certificate.

•Send in cash or a check (payable to Beal PTO) in a sealed and marked envelope to school

*****Please don't forget to include 6.25% sales tax on your order*****

In person- Families can come into school to shop the fair on the stage in the cafeteria:

•Wednesday Oct 20th 3:30-4:30

•Saturday Oct 23rd 10am - 1pm

•Monday Oct 25th 3:30-4:30

We will be closing the fair at the end of the day Tuesday October 26h, so please send us your orders before then!

Our online book fair will also be available until October 31th. These books will be mailed to your home.

If you have a valid CORI background check, and you are interested in volunteering at the fair, we would love your help!

Find our fair to create/add funds to an e-Wallet account or shop online :

Happy reading!

MCAS Reports are coming home today

  • Today, 4th grade families will be receiving reports sharing their child’s performance on the Grade 3 Spring 2021 administration of MCAS. MCAS data is used to inform our practices and refine and strengthen teaching and learning across the district. Given the unique challenges last year with remote and hybrid learning, the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education noted that overall performance across the state was lower than typical years. This is also the case with our school and district data. Our teaching teams and administrative teams will continue to use the MCAS data as one of several measures to continuously monitor and support the growth of all students. We look forward to this work.

  • If you have any questions about the information contained in the reports please reach out to your child’s classroom teacher. Thank you!

Parent/teacher conferences will be held on Tuesday, November 2, 2021. Please be on the lookout for communication from your classroom teacher about setting up a conference.

Emergency Contact Information in Powerschool Parent Portal

Updated emergency contact information is extremely important for the school to maintain healthy lines of communication with our families, especially when immediate parents are not available.

We ask that you check your emergency contact information in your Parent Portal and please update it or add contacts if you do not have them.
