From Mrs. Lay

Hello Whiteside families! Thank you in advance for all that you are doing to help your child learn at home. As we navigate through these new experiences in teaching and learning we know that there may be bumps along the road. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we work to create the best possible learning environment for your child.

I want you to know that your child's teachers have been working tirelessly to make this a smooth transition. That being said please reach out to me or your teacher with any questions or concerns. We are here to help! Remote instruction will officially begin on Monday, March 30th. Whiteside Elementary has digital resources available for all grade levels. These resources can be found on our Whiteside website under Announcements, at the links below, and shared by your child's teacher.

Students in Pre-K through 1st grade that do not have access to technology can also pick up a paper packet of materials on Monday, March 30 at meal pickup locations and bus stop drop off locations. These packets will also be posted online at www.LubbockISD.org/learnonline under the Parent tab and your child’s grade level.

All 2nd - 5th grade students will complete their assignments through Google Classroom using their chromebooks. This is a technology platform that your child is very comfortable utilizing for learning. There is a student help desk line available at (806) 219-0199, or go to helpdesk@LubbockISD.org should you or your child experience technical difficulties.

Again, we are hopeful that this will be a positive learning experience for you and your child. Please contact me if you need anything at all.
