"Oh! The Places We'll Go!"
WHAT'S NEW? (March 6th, 2015)
Hi Parents,
On Wednesday afternoon, we went to the Junior High to watch the dress rehearsal of Aladdin Jr. The performance was fantastic and the 5th graders enjoyed getting to watch the show! It was great to see many former Greenbriar students involved with the production.
This week the students completed the PARCC tests. Yay! They did a great job of keeping positive during the testing, even when experiencing technical difficulties. Trying something for the first time often causes anxiety. The fear of the unknown is very common and add technology to the mix and now it becomes even more intimidating! If anyone can handle technology, it's our "digital natives". I am very proud of their hard work and perseverance they displayed through the rough patches. Thanks to you, parents, for all your support at home of reassuring your child to just try their best. This type of testing is now the new norm. When we take the PARCC tests again in April (yes, April) I imagine seeing more confidence in the students (and the teacher!) I know we all deserve a nice weekend. :)
Next week we will resume our normal routine with spelling and vocabulary.
Enjoy your weekend,
Mrs. Sanchez and Mrs. Mirza
P.S. If you child missed a PARCC test for any reason, make-ups will be taking place next week.
