Farewell Reception for Everybody's Favorite Librarian!

Join us for coffee as we celebrate Virginia Tanji on Thursday, December 18

We would like to invite you for morning refreshments as we bid a fond farewell and happy retirement to Virginia “Ginny” Tanji, Library Director of the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa John A. Burns School of Medicine Health Sciences Library, after 25 years of dedicated service. Ginny will retire on December 31, 2014.

Ginny got her start in medical libraries at the Dana Medical Library at the University of Vermont. She received her graduate degree at the University of Illinois, and returned to Hawaiʻi to start her career at the Hawaiʻi Medical Library. Thereafter, she began with the UHM where she served as public health librarian at the Biomedical Building on the Mānoa campus. In 2005, she was appointed Director of the Health Sciences Library when the new medical school building was inaugurated. Ginny has collaborated with National Library of Medicine (NLM) and NN/LM on numerous endeavors throughout the years. Please join us in celebrating her contributions.
