Kindergarten Orientation:
- 1:15 pm: AM (morning) Kindergarten arrives and meets their teacher and visits the classroom
- 1:30 pm: PM (afternoon) Kindergarten arrives and meets their teacher in the lobby
- 1:30 p.m. Both sessions will have a brief, practice bus ride. All parents report to the multi-purpose room where students will join us following the bus ride
- 1:45 pm: Snack is provided in the multi-purpose room accompanied by brief presentations
- 2:15 p.m.: PM Kindergarten visits the classroom
- 2:30 pm: Visitation is over
New Student Orientation:
Students new to Richboro Elementary School (Grades 1-6) are invited to meet their teacher between 2:00 and 3:00 pm.
The first few days of school can be overwhelming, please be assured that our staff are experienced and available to assist all new children. For the first few weeks, the kindergarten teachers will meet their students at the entrance and walk them to class. For new students in other grades, staff will be available at the entrance to escort your child to their classroom until they are comfortable entering on their own.
CAR RIDER ARRIVAL & DISMISSAL PROCEDURES
CAR RIDER ARRIVAL
Students may be dropped off in the first driveway of the parking lot beginning at 8:50 a.m. Upon arrival, students are to report to the lobby. At 9:00 a.m. they will be permitted to go to their classrooms for a start time of 9:10 a.m.
Please Do:
+ Pull up to the curb, have your child(ren) exit and you drive off
+ Follow directions of the adult supervising the car arrivals
+ Park if you need to step out of your car to assist your child(ren)
Please Don’t:
- Leave the driver’s seat
- Park along the drop-off curb
- Pass cars that are dropping off students – this presents a safety hazard for everyone
Car Rider Dismissal
Picking-up students directly from classrooms is strictly prohibited. If you happen to be in the building late in the school day and wish to pick your child up, please report to the lobby for dismissal. For an occasional car rider, you will need to sign your child out of in the office.
Please Do:
+ Park in the parking lot and wait in the school lobby
+ Accompany all students to their vehicles, crossing only at the blue crosswalk. Safety is most important!
+ Send an e-mail to the classroom teacher, Mrs. Clopton (sclopton@crsd.org) AND Mrs. Gluch (cgluch@crsd.org) to ensure your child is placed on the car rider notification list
+ Send notification to the office prior to 3:00 pm.
Please Don’t:
- Park in the bus lane
- Allow children to walk unattended to your car
- Request transportation changes after 3:00 pm
No car rider requests will be accepted over the phone, as we are unable to verify your identity.

Thinking of Volunteering? Background Checks are NOW a State Requirement!
PA State Law now requires that all volunteers in the district MUST obtain the required clearances. Keep in mind it can take up to 2 weeks to obtain all the clearances.
“Volunteer” is defined as an adult in an unpaid volunteer position who is responsible for the welfare of a child or who has direct contact with children. Direct contact shall mean care, supervision, guidance or control of children or routine interaction with children. Any adult who is individually responsible for the children’s welfare, directly caring for, supervising, guiding or controlling the children are required to obtain clearances. Any volunteer who is present and working with students one or more times per week will be presumed to be a volunteer and must obtain clearances.
What You'll Need:
- PA State Police Criminal Record Check $0
- PA Child Abuse History Clearance $0
- FBI Fingerprint Clearance $27 (ONLY if you've lived outside Pennsylvania in the last 10 years) OR the CR Volunteer Affidavit-Notarized $0 (good for those who have lived in the state of PA for the last 10 years.)
Once you receive your clearances and/or affidavit, BRING them to Ms. Monica McLaughlin, Secretary for CRSD Human Resources at the Chancellor Center in Newtown. When all clearances are submitted your information will be entered into the volunteer database and you can then begin to volunteer in the schools. Ms. McLaughlin can be reached at mmclaughlin@crsd.org or (215) 944-1000, x1044.
