PRINCIPAL'S CORNER
I can't believe it is already past the mid point of January. I have just a couple of quick reminders.
Please have your child come to school in their boots every day. They do go outside to play every morning before school and they need boots and warm clothes on.
Each spring students in grade 3-5 are involved in a state wide assessment in reading and math while our 4th grades also take a test in science and social studies. This is a great time for us to show the rest of the state just how AWESOME Abrams is when it comes to learning. This testing time will come up quickly and I just wanted to remind everyone that this test takes place mid April until the beginning of May. I ask that families avoid vacations during this time as much as possible. Exact dates and testing times will come in the near future to those specific classes.
As always, please see me with any questions, comments or concerns you have about learning or our school.
Have a wonderful January!
Mrs. Michalski

Notes from the Office
Calling all 4k Students! Pre-registration letters will be sent by the end of January, to all the families on our census list who have children eligible to attend 4K next fall. Hopefully, our census list is up to date and accurate, but if you know of someone new to the area with a four year old child, please have them call the office at 920-826-5819.
Open Enrollment: This year’s Open Enrollment application period will take place between February 4th and April 30th. The Wisconsin Open Enrollment program allows children to attend public school in a school district other than the one in which they live. Early and late applications will not be accepted. Parents may apply online at https://dpi.wi.gov/oe If you do not have access to a computer, call or stop in at the district office.
If your child is currently attending under Open Enrollment, it is not necessary to complete an application form; your child will remain an active student through 12th grade.
School Dress Up Days:
1/18/19- Mythical Creature Day
1/25/19- Stuffed Animal Day
Classroom Chatter - Mrs. Ingram's Class
The 4th grade students are very excited that they have been receiving postcards from their Travel Diary project. Each student created and sent their diary to someone who lives outside of Wisconsin. That person then writes in the diary to share information about their city/state. They are also asked to send us a postcard so we can track the diary's progress and send the diary on to another state. Hopefully, we will receive postcards from all 50 states!
