Fundraiser Update

Thank you so much to all our families and students for a successful fundraiser! As a school, we made over $3000! That is AMAZING!! We appreciate all of you!!

Birth Certificates and Emergency Contact Forms

It is a state law that we have a copy of every student's birth certificate on file. If you have not given the office a copy, please do so as soon as possible.

Also, please turn in the emergency contact forms that were sent home at the beginning of the school year or when your student started at Arbor. We need this on file to know emergency numbers and other adults who are allowed or not allowed to pick up your child.

Thank you for your support!

Holiday Gift Shop

The Holiday Shop is an exciting event that allows the students at Arbor Academy to do a little holiday shopping of their own in a fun and safe environment. Each class will have a designated day and time to attend the Holiday gift shop between December 18-20. A planner envelope and a note will be coming home soon with your child's shopping date and time.

Winter Dance Update

We have decided to move the Winter Dance date sometime in January/February. We will have more details soon.

Winter Break

Please pay attention to our Winter Break dates. Our winter break is a little different than many of the local schools. We do not have school starting on Friday, December 21st through Friday, January 4th. We will have a non-uniform day on Thursday, December 20th. Students can wear holiday attire. School will resume on Monday, January 7th.

Colder Weather and School Closings

As our Michigan weather gets colder please see that your children have appropriate outerwear for recess and any other outside activities. We ask that you send your child to school with appropriate head, hand, and foot wear along with snow pants (when the temp reaches 30 degrees). We will take our students out for recess unless the temperature is at 10 degrees Fahrenheit or if we have a wind chill factor of 10 degrees Fahrenheit. The other factor would be the amount of snowfall at the time of recess. Students may not stay in from outdoor recess unless we have a doctor’s note on file stating that they cannot go outdoors.

As winter weather approaches, I would like to review some of Arbor’s practices and procedures in the handbook regarding school closings. Specifically, we ask that you watch WWMT (Channel 3) or WOOD (Channel 8). We will make every effort to announce the closing by 6:30 am. Also follow us on Facebook and/or sign-up for Remind to receive school closings and news information.

Safety Reminder!!!

We would appreciate it if students did not arrive at school in the morning until 8:00 am. We have supervision available at that time. Students are not to be dropped off at the center island between schools. There is absolutely no parking in the fire lane even if it’s only for a brief period. Parents may park in the parking lot or available spaces in the middle island and walk their child to class. For parents dropping off at the K-3 building, please remember to turn left before the CDC drive, and then exit or proceed to the 3-6 building. Small children are present under the CDC canopy quite frequently, and drive thru traffic for school drop off is prohibited. A reminder to parents to please not leave your car unattended in the circle drive between 8:00 – 8:30 am and between 3:00 – 3:35 pm. This allows us to provide a free flow of traffic and to safely unload/load the students into your car.

ARBOR ACADEMY IS A SMOKE AND DRUG FREE ZONE! No smoking on school grounds/property. Thank you for your cooperation.
