Leonard Susskind
By: Kyle Famularo
Bio
Born in New York City on January 1st, 1940.
He is currently 75 years old.
He studied at Cornell University and graduated in 1965.
He has degrees in B.A in Physics, Ph.D in Physics a few years later.
Brief Summary
Leonard's major contributions to physics are the independent discovery of the string theory. Continuing Einsteins work to further explain the connection of gravity to quantum mechanics. He is known as one of the founding fathers of the string theory landscape. He also has published several books, The Cosmic Landscape, The Black Hole War and The theoretical minimum series . He is a professor of Theoretical Physics at Stanford University. Currently his research focuses on black holes, cosmology and quantum gravity.
String theory
He discovered that String theory is highly mathematical and is the basic structure to the theory of gravity and quantum mechanics.
Holographic principle
He was the founder of the idea that Property of string theory and supposed property of quantum gravity that states a volume of space can be like a gravitational horizon.
Black Hole War
He has studied what would happen to the matter stored in a black hole if it happens to evaporate. The book is very controversial because it goes against what Hawking said would happen.
How is studies are used in todays teaching.
He is very important in terms of the String Theory, being one of the founding fathers of the very structured mathematical form of science is crucial in continuing further research of matter and entropy.
