We are excited to announce the grand prize for The Pitch, a new event hosted by the Career Center, taking place on Wednesday, October 11, from 5:30-8 PM in the Special Collections Library.
The student with the best pitch will win a brand new Beats Pill+ Bluetooth speaker!
As a reminder, The Pitch is a networking event modeled after NBCs “The Voice.” Students will deliver their elevator pitch (1 minute or less) to our employer judges, who will spin around when they like what they hear! Every student will get to choose one employer to be their career coach. Stay tuned for an announcement about our employer judges coming soon.
*This event is intended as a fun way to practice your pitch, gain career advice, and network. Pitches don’t need to be perfect - our employers are more focused on their role of coaching than judging!
Here is what finalists will get for participating:
- A Career Center door prize
- Live career coaching, followed by networking with the judges and other employers
- 2 additional coaching sessions (i.e. phone/skype call) or one longer session (i.e. coffee chat), arranged after the event with your chosen coach
- A chance to win the Beats Pill+ speaker!
To apply, please visit https://uga.biginterview.com/.
- Register using your UGA email address
- Click on the “Assignments” tab, and enter the code 75e585
- Practice recording your pitch, and submit when you’re ready!
The deadline to apply is this Sunday, October 1 at 11:59 PM. If you have any questions, email Tom Fenner at fennertw@uga.edu.
