Spring Chicks
Second graders completed an unforgettable science experiment of hatching chicks. Students learned first hand the stages of the life cycle. They also read and researched the life cycle of chickens and even predicted when the new hatchlings would arrive. As each chick hatched, students were able to witness and make their own observations. Mrs. Duncan's class completed a technology project to highlight facts about the life cycle in action. Students also learned responsibility while caring for the chicks until they were ready to go back into the hands of local farmers!
Breakfast with Buddies
Greenlee hosted Breakfast with Buddies where special adults joined students by grade level to enjoy breakfast and books. What a great way to start the day! The annual book fair exceeded our yearly goal where all profits are used for library books and school materials. Thank you to students, teachers, parents, guardians, and volunteers for making the book fair a success!
Kinders visit Grandfather Mountain
Kinders had a fantastic time learning about the geography of Grandfather Mountain. Students learned about the biodiversity of plant and animal life from the nature museum and viewing wildlife habitats. The mile-high swinging bridge is always a favorite and unforgettable memory!
First Graders visit Kid Senses
Kid senses is an interactive museum which gives students the opportunity to learn about themselves and the world around them. As you can see below, the museum allows students to get hands-on experience in multiple topics.
