2022-23 Calendar Now Available

The 2022-23 school year calendar is now available online. You can export the calendar to your own Google Calendar, iOS device, or Microsoft Outlook, or print it out.

First Days of School

The first day of school is Aug. 29, 2022. However, not all students will report that day. The 2022-23 school year includes a number of transition days which means a staggered start for students. We understand that this can be confusing for students and families, so we are trying to make it easier for you! Check out the First Days of School list, broken down by grade level.

Important Dates

School Supply Lists

School supply lists are now available for Grades K-8 students. Click here to find the supply lists for your school and grade level.

Bus Route Information

BEGINNING AUGUST 15: You can check your student's bus route information for the 2022-2023 school year by entering their student ID number on the Transportation Page of our website. You can also find route information in the district's mobile app beginning August 15.

Teacher Assignments and Schedules

BEGINNING AUGUST 19: You can log in to Parent Portal to view your child's classroom teacher assignments and schedules.

Free & Reduced Lunch Applications

The federal program that allowed schools to provide no-cost meals to all students has ended. However, you can still apply for free and reduced price meals if you are eligible. To complete the Free & Reduced Price Meal Application, please click here. For more information, please visit our Child Nutrition Services page.

Final Forms Reminder

Get an early start on the school year by updating your student's information on Final Forms! You can now log-in to your Final Forms account for the 2022-23 school year.

For new families, you will only need to fill out the forms once and then update and verify the following year. If you are not new to the district, please log-in to Final Forms to verify that the information from last year is up to date and add your electronic signature to each form. The new E.H. Greene Intermediate will be ready for students and staff! We are so excited to open the doors to this amazing new facility.

Symmes Elementary Renovations

The renovations to Symmes Elementary are nearly complete. Crews are putting the finishing touches on the gym renovation before the start of school. The hardwood floor has been completely refinished and the gym has a fresh coat of paint to go with the brand new stage.

New Sycamore Junior High

Progress continues to be made on the new Sycamore Junior High. Heading into the new school year, crews are focused on interior finishing work. Continued site development and demolition on the old building will begin in Spring 2023. We are on track to open the new junior high for the 2023-24 school year.

Sycamore High School Renovations

The high school campus is a construction zone right now, but crews anticipate the summer renovations projects will be completed in time for the arrival of students and staff. The cafeteria and kitchen renovations are 70% complete. The new front entrance will be ready for us with the south loop entrance completed for pickup/drop off. Crews are paving the bus lot and campus parking will be ready for the start of school. Please look for additional information about new traffic patterns for arrival/dismissal from the high school team in the coming weeks.


Sycamore Stadium

Crews continue to work towards the Fall 2022 goal for completing Phase I of the multi-use stadium project at Sycamore High School. The stands have risen out of the ground and turf is being put in. The field, stands, concessions, restrooms, and grand entry plaza will be completed in Phase I. We continue to raise funds for Phase II which includes the home and visitor fieldhouses. UC Health Sports Medicine Contract

UC Health is now providing comprehensive sports medicine services to student-athletes at Sycamore Community Schools. The agreement provides $525,000 donation to the Always An Aviator campaign to support the stadium project. Meet our new team doctor, Dr. Branam and our trainers.

Thank You, Boosters!

A big thank you to the Sycamore Athletic Boosters for contributing $85,000 to the Always An Aviator Capital Campaign! The donation will pay for the new ticketing booth at the stadium.


Active Shooter Training

On July 30, Sycamore Community Schools, local law enforcement, and first responders conducted a large-scale active shooter training at Maple Dale Elementary. The realistic, intensive drill provided our staff and first responders with critical information that will enhance our safety and security plans. Check out this Local 12 story about the training.

Healthy Aves

Please look for more information regarding Healthy Aves plans for the 2022-23 school year before the first day of school.

We ask that families and staff continue to use the COVID-19 Daily Checklist to ensure any unhealthy individuals stay home from school if they are ill.

Help us celebrate and recognize our staff who have done something special!

Each month this school year, the district will select a nominee to be recognized as an Awesome Aviator. All you have to do is fill out this form to submit a nomination. The form can also be found on our website: You can fill out a form as often as you would like this year.

We will surprise the Awesome Aviator each month and share the good news on social media and in the district newsletter.

Seeking Bus Drivers

Sycamore is currently seeking school bus drivers for the 2022-2023 school year. No CDL? No problem....we will train! $20/hour, minimum 6 hours per day, with the potential of receiving a contracted route. Contracted route drivers start at $21.54/hour, with additional pay based on years of experience.

We're also looking for school bus monitors. This position pays $13/hour minimum 4 hours per day, with the strong potential of receiving a contracted route. Contracted route monitors start at $18.01 per hour, with additional pay based on years of experience or related experience. These are the perfect PT jobs for retirees, stay-at-home parents, and others who are looking to make a positive difference while transporting our most precious cargo! Click here to apply:
