Dismissal Notes and Procedure
If your child has a dismissal change at the end of the school day, please adhere to the following procedure:
Any change that is different from your students normal daily dismissal needs a note from a parent. For example: if your child has chess club every Wednesday, they need a new note each Wednesday. Please put the students FIRST AND LAST NAME and what the dismissal change will be. The note needs to be dated and signed by the parent. If your child will be going home with another student, we need a note from both parents saying it's okay. One note for the child to go to the other students home, and a note verifying it is okay with the receiving parent that the student may come to their home. Both notes will be approved with a red stamp by the office to give to the bus driver.

Recess will be held outside whenever possible. This is an important part of the day for kids to socialize and use a little physical energy. All students will go out to recess unless they have a note from home for a medical reason. Extended periods of time (more than 3 days) require a physician’s excuse. Rain, wind chill, and temperature are all taken into consideration when a decision is made to have indoor recess. HSE policy states that recess will be held indoors when the temperature or wind chill falls below 15 degrees Fahrenheit. Please have your student come to school every day with appropriate outerwear to play outside on cold winter days.

Computer Lab
Thank you to the parents who sent in head phones for your students. I have seen the pride in how each child takes care of their own headset when they come to class. Just informational, I have been teaching each class how to use both hands on the key board. Each child has been working hard to earn their name on my board for typing 10 WPM. I have some who type 30 WPM. The smaller students are using a different program and earn certificates they bring home. Thank you for your encouragement. I love seeing each one of the students growing since August.

Celebration of Lights
Fishers Parks & Recreation to Host Annual with New Twist
Community invited for musical entertainment and festivities to kick off the holiday season
Jump start the holiday season with Fishers Parks & Recreation during the Celebration of Lights! Bundle up and stop by the Nickel Plate District on Friday, December 5 from 6:30 until 7:30 p.m. as we light the community holiday tree. This Fishers tradition offers holiday celebrations, light concessions and a story from Santa Claus himself.
Arrive early to catch a special guest appearance by Lauren Lowrey with Ashton Wolf, and stick around for a performance by the Fishers High School Choir. Little ones joining in on the fun? The more the merrier! Children can enjoy visiting with reindeer, stopping by local business booths, and enjoying hot chocolate and cookies while Santa Claus reads The Night Before Christmas.
Fishers Parks & Recreation strives to host diverse community events that welcome residents of all ages. Plan to attend the Celebration of Lights and begin the holiday season with friends and family right here in our community. Bundle up, invite a few neighbors and plan to spend the evening in the Nickel Plate District. The Celebration of Lights is a Fishers family tradition that little ones will remember for years to come. Concessions will be available on a first come, first served basis.
Visit our website for more information about the Celebration of Lights and other holiday events offered by Fishers Parks & Recreation!
