Purchasing Protocol Changes
**This is NOT just for items over $1000 (we already have to get 3 quotes for those).
All Band SPLOST is specifically required to do this effective immediately. If you are turning in PR’s through your building with your bookkeeper for something at the school level, double check with your bookkeeper that you need to do that as well.
**Prior Band SPLOST Requisitions are exempt on this change since they have already been submitted.
SO - recap in English: If you turn in a PR, instead of just filling out a Purchase Request Form, you have to attach proof of the pricing to the PR when you turn it in.
If you have any questions, let me know.
PLC Reminders/Deadines
Reminder - you are all a part of the Fine Arts PLC. You need to register for the PLC yourself (if you have not already done so) and they are titled as follows:
- PLC119034 - Music Tier Collaborative PLC (This is for ALL Music Personnel)
- PLC119035 - Visual Art Tier Collaborative PLC (This is for ALL Visual Art Personnel)
- PLC119036 - Theatre Arts Collaborative PLC
**As with anything PL related, your EAC can help you or you can always reach out to me.
As we did last year, a PLC is a cumulative professional learning collaboration that occurs across the school year with multiple opportunities to grow. It is not a one-day, sit and get event.
Just a few of the things that go toward the PLC:
- Visit with your peer (sub day is covered for ONE day - 3434)
- Conference attendance for your area (GMEA, GAEA, EdTA, ACDA, etc)
- Leadership opportunities you take within your building, our district, our state or beyond
- Early Release Day meetings (if you area has those)
- District PL Day - November 6 - ALL FINE ARTS HAVE A SPECIAL CLINICIAN/EVENT THIS DAY - Details in future news.
- Grad School, Post Grad Work, etc
- ANYTHING you are involved in? Professionally sharing your craft?
You just need to shoot me an email at some point and let me know what you are up to this year. I add this into your PLC tracker that I keep so I can sign off on your PLC at the end of the year.
It might look something like this:
*Hey, Katie. This is Sally Saxophone. I am the president of the Woodwind International Reed society. I also am presenting at the national conference in January. My presentation is entitled "Keeping the Reed Moist" - it is most interesting and I am looking forward to it. I also have been collaborating with our Ag class to grow our own organic cane for the production of reeds as a fundraiser for our spring trip to Tahiti. I have visited my peer, Derek Djembe to collaborate and close the gap of misunderstandings between the winds and membranes. I am also working on my Doctorate in Psychiatry so I will better understand the frustrations of the middle school woodwinds in their dismay of the squeak."
