Winter After School Virtual Club Opportunities for 2021!
Ukulele Club, Grades 3-5. Would you like to learn to play the ukulele? Mrs. Ladner is starting a Ukulele Club for students in grades 3-5 on Tuesday afternoons at 3:15 from January 5th-March 23rd. The only thing you need is a ukulele, so start asking your family or Santa to get you one for Christmas. You will use the same Zoom link that you use to come to music class. If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Ladner through Seesaw.
Lego Club. Do you like to play with legos and would like to show yours and see others’ creations and sets? Come for that and lego challenges and competitions as well. 6 week club: Tuesdays, January 5 - February 9, from 3:15-4:15. Ms. Kuhns will be having fun with you there! Sign up here: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1TMnmyZ48eAc1nCrpymlDloWzmbTOzRVV984JYhPkBRg/edit
Sing-Along/Karaoke Club. Are you missing singing with your friends? if so, come and join Sing-Along/Karaoke Club. Mrs. Ladner will find some fun songs and videos to sing and move to in this musical club. This club is open to any Husmann student. We will meet on Wednesday afternoons from 3:15-4:15 on Mrs. Ladner's Zoom link. The club will start on Wednesday January 6th and run through Wednesday March 24th. Hope to see you there!
Roblox Club. Join our student club captains to enter on their safe servers (in which no strangers can enter) to play games. Students will need their own personal device, not their D47 device, and have played Roblox already. The plan is for students to “friend” each other during the club time on a Husmann Club Captain’s server, and remove them at the end of club time. If any student wants to remain “friends” with another Husmann student on Roblox, they are required to talk to their parents to do so. Students will need to agree to these terms in order to play. D47 or Ms. Kuhns is in no way endorsing the use of the game, only offering a safe club where those who use it may enjoy playing with other Husmann students. Ms. Kuhns will be supervising this club on Thursdays, January 28 - February 25, from 3:00-4:00. Sign up here: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1oiH9WsnLjG9hT2HB_yDQ8VW5RgHhVypI-Ahs8n7zDQI/edit

HPTO
News from the HPTO
Hello families! Last year, many of you so generously donated to our silent auction for the Fun Fair. Due to COVID, this event never happened, and we will not be permitted to host it this year either.
We are brainstorming other ways the PTO can effectively use your donations to fundraise for the school year. However, we also recognize that you donated these items with the silent auction in mind. At this time, we are asking that any parent who would like your donation returned to you, please reach out to us at husmannpto@gmail.com by December 31, 2020. Any donations that remain after that point will be put to use for other PTO fundraisers.
Our PTO has been reviewing our bylaws this year and have discovered a large need for updates, especially with an addition to a clause that would cover pandemics. We are having a special bylaws meeting on December 16, 2020 at 7 PM via Google meet. At this meeting we will be voting on the attached proposed changes in regards to the attached current bylaws. If you are interested in joining this meeting please email us at HusmannPTO@gmail.com with the subject "bylaws meeting invite".
Thank you for your time,
Your 2020-2021 Husmann PTO board

HPTO Virtual Movie Night
Join us for our first ever HPTO Virtual Movie Night on December 21 at 6:30 PM. The movie shown will be determined by student votes (students will get info soon).
Families will need a Netflix account to view the movie. In addition, participants will need to use Google Chrome as the viewing browser. (It is highly recommended to use the following Scener link prior to the movie to set up your account and install the necessary browser extension.
https://scener.com/hpto?eventId=32320 )
HPTO will also be selling (optional) movie snack packs to enjoy during the movie. The cost per snack pack is $10. Included in the snack pack will be a 2 liter drink, 3 movie theater sized box candy, 2 bags of microwave popcorn and 4 small popcorn containers. In addition, every snack pack box order will enter you in a prize drawing that will take place before the movie and during the intermission. The last day to pre-order your snack pack is Friday December 18 at 5:00 PM. These snack packs will be hand delivered to each student's home by Mr. Sromek & Mrs. Fitzgerald on Sunday, December 20 (times TBD). They are so excited to not only deliver the snack boxes but to also say hello "in person" and not from behind their computer screens!
Please fill out this Google Form to order your snack pack

Are you looking to support your local school or non-profit organization? What could be easier than earning money by SHOPPING from your own home? Simply shop through Amazon.com/smile! If you aren’t already supporting your favorite charity, please considering selecting Husmann Elementary School Parent Teacher Organization as your charity. .5% of all qualified purchases will go directly to our PTO. How easy it that? If you have the app, you can set it up to automatically shop through Amazon Smile every time you shop. I don’t know about you, but I feel like I could fund the year for PTO with all the purchases my family makes!
