Democratic Rights
In 1963, Tenzin Gyatso made a draft democratic constitution for Tibet. It was followed by a number of improvements to adjust the Tibetan policy-making set-up. The new democratic constitution was declared as a result of this improvement it was named "The Charter of Tibetans in Exile". The charter allows freedom of speech, belief, assembly and movement. Taking and leaving political power
On November 17, 1950, Tenzin Gyatso properly took political power as the 14th Dalai Lama, becoming both the head of state and head of government for Tibet. When he was fifteen years old.
On the 14th of March 2011, Tenzin Gyatso sent a letter to the Tibetan Parlament requesting to resign of his political powers.
This announcement would bring an end to the spiritual and political authority of the Dalai Lama.
What I learned from this project.
I have learn't that that Tenzin Gyatso is the 14th and current Dalai Lama. He stands for peace, equillity and that violence is the answer to no problem, no matter how big or small.
Tenzin Gyatso made a constitution that allowed freedom of speech for everybody.
He thinks and beleives that nobody should be judged, because of their appererence, the language they speak or their beliefs, or for anything.
I have learn't that just like Nelson Mandella, the 14th Dalai Lama has said many quotes that promote kindness and fulfilling a happy life.
He has won many awars and prizes, such as the Templeton Prize and the Nobel Peace Prize.
Over all I have learnt that the 14th Dalai Lama is an extremely inspirational man, and that everybody should have the chance to live a fulfilling and peaceful life just as he is.
