News and Notes from the Principal
How many times in your life can you say that you experienced the following on the same weekend: Halloween, Daylight Savings and a Full Moon. The answer is Never, this year has most certainly been a year of firsts - Welcome to 2020!~
This week we conducted the PSAT for our Sophomore class as well as for Junior students seeking National Merit Honors. In addition, our students not assessing had the opportunity to engage in advisement lessons while our Seniors enjoyed the day away from school engaged in the completion of Common Application essay prompts. We hope this time was fruitful for all and are proud of the good work that ALL staff/students did in pulling off this feat which required countless hours of logistical and advisement planning!
Next week on Tuesday, November 3, 2020 our students will have a half-day of schooling. During this time we will run our half-day schedule and will release after lunch allowing students/staff an opportunity for remediation, conferencing, professional learning and dual-platform planning! Mark your calendars so that you are well aware that students will be coming home earlier than normal on Tuesday, November 3, 2020.
Our volleyball team closed out their season this past week closing out the season as one of the top 8 contenders in AAAAAA with our Cross Country team beginning to round out their season with the Regional Cross Country Championship Run which was hosted here at RHHS now with 9 consecutive Region Championships for the girls team and 8 for the boys. Our swim team gets their first opportunity at competition today at a local meet. The football team returns home with a region championship on the line against the Pirates of Brunswick High School while our JROTC Raider team looks to compete for the first time at home this season on November 7 thanks to the revamping of our course with the help of student, staff & stakeholder support! We are excited for the academic and extracurricular excellence that all of our students have continued to exhibit through this pandemic!
Enjoy the weekend ahead, stay safe out there & rest up for a full week of engagement for your students ahead!

Health & Safety Reminders:
- If your student is not feeling well, please do NOT send them to school. With concurrent learning they have the opportunity to take advantage of the curriculum even when not present - they can log into their google meets.
- Face Coverings are to be worn at ALL times while on campus, when lunch is not being consumed.
- Congregation before/after school is strongly discouraged. If we want to maintain in-person schooling it is important that we ALL work together to make this happen.
- If your child is unable to attend school due to COVID-related symptoms please be sure to contact the school to speak with the nurse: (tparker@bryan.k12.ga.us or dfoster@bryan.k12.ga.us) - All attendance related notes should be submitted to Ms. Carolyn Oetjen via email at (coetjen@bryan.k12.ga.us)

Senior Meetings
Counselors have now started senior meetings. Seniors are to schedule their own meetings with their counselor via pick-a-time. These will be held at various times of the day. Please keep in mind it is the senior who chooses the time and schedules their appointment. Seniors are responsible for remembering their scheduled appointment, and excusing themselves from class for the meeting. To avoid repeated interruptions, counselors will not be calling into classrooms for seniors to make their appointment. Click Here and reserve your time at the bottom left hand side of the webpage.
