SCCS K-6 Music: Learning at Home
For March 18-26, 2020
Psalm 150
Praise the Lord.
Praise God in his sanctuary; praise him in his mighty heavens.
Praise him for his acts of power; praise him for his surpassing greatness.
Praise him with the sounding of the trumpet,
praise him with the harp and lyre,
praise him with tambourine and dancing,
praise him with the strings and flute,
praise him with the clash of cymbals,
praise him with resounding cymbals.
Let everything that has breath praise the Lord.
Praise the Lord.
Learning Target: I can build a musical instrument using resources from around the house
The Bible clearly tells us that as Christians we are to commanded to praise the Lord both with our voice and with instruments! Nearly every type of instrument in mentioned in Psalm 150, and as creation enjoyers we realize that music is a gift from God. This week students will create an instrument from items found in your home.

Consider this exploration into homemade instruments an extension of your learning in General Music with Mrs. De Vries. In the next few weeks, we will find a way to incorporate singing into your at-home learning.
