Growing with STEM in Fourth Grade
News
We are truly humbled by the generosity and hard work that went into planning, funding, and installing Cannon's new outdoor learning garden. In the morning, our fourth grade scholars participated in creating a feature for the garden using keys, and in the afternoon, they got their hands dirty by planting a variety of seeds and plants, including mustard, blue kale, collard greens, broccoli, carrots, and peas! Thank you to all who were able to volunteer and participate in the Big Dig! We are so excited to see the growth of our scholars as they create meaningful connections with our 'Real School Garden.'

We will be conducting our annual Walk to School event on Wednesday, October 7th. We would love to have our entire school participate in the Walk to School event. Please drop off your child at Grapevine Methodist Church Parking lot or Dogwood Dr (Across from Baylor) between 7:00-7:15 am. Staff will be waiting to walk with students. Parents are more than welcome to walk with us too!
International Walk to School Day is a global event that involves communities from more than 40 countries walking and biking to school on the same day. It began in 1997 as a one-day event. Over time, this event has become part of a movement for year-round safe routes to school and a celebration – with record-breaking participation – each October. Today, thousands of schools across America – from all 50 states, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico – participate every October.
iPad Reminders
Just a few reminders about our iPads. Please be sure to have your scholars power down and charge their iPads daily. Also, please have your scholar keep a pair of headphones or earbuds with them in their backpacks. There are a number of activities on their iPads such as spelling tests where earbuds or headphones are needed. If a scholar comes to school without their iPads charged or without their headphones they may not be able to participate in our daily activities. We thank you in advance and appreciate your help in ensuring that your scholars are prepared for school.
