Winter Weather Doesn't Stop Our Vipers!
Winter arrived in full force this week and it coordinated brilliantly with some of our grade levels learning about different aspects of weather in science this quarter. Our kids were working hard on campus again this week and have settled well into 3rd quarter learning. Temperatures are expected to stay cool next week, so we appreciate all of you sending your kids dressed for recess and PE outside in the cooler temperatures.
We also want to remind everyone that DVUSD changed February 5 to a true 1/2 day. On Friday February 5, we will release at 12:05 pm (or 11:50 for walkers/riders). Our office will also close early at 1:00 pm as DVUSD is offerring vaccinations for all employees on Friday and Saturday.

Attention 8th Grade Parents!
Yearkbook is doing a “The Way We Were” page of old pictures for our 8th graders. Please send a photo of your student from Kindergarten with your students full name to Ms. Mayfield at traci.mayfield@dvusd.org. This will be a wonderful way to showcase our Vipers as they promote to high school. All pictures must be submitted to Ms. Mayfield by March 12.

Covid Reporting/Face Mask/Water Bottle Reminder
DVUSD New Early Relase from Close Contact Quarantine Policy:
A student can be released early from the 10 day quarantine and may return on Day 8 or after if the student receives a negative COVID-19 test result beginning on Day 6 of the quarantine or after and the student has been symptom free since exposure. (Day 0 is the most recent date of close contact exposure to the COVID-19 positive person.) Proof of a negative test must be provided to the school before the student will be allowed to return.
Also, please remember to send students to school with a refillable water bottle or hydroflask that they can refill throughout the day along with at least two facemasks in case they get dropped or soiled. We always have extras of both on campus, but we are quickly running through our supply.
Have a Great Weekend!
