Living Our Mantra

Better place to learn has been seen in action this week! While we celebrated being a better place to work the last few weeks as we welcomed back staff and laughed, learned and prepared together, it all culminates this week as our learners return! Pictures are worth a thousand words, and we hope you enjoy our photographic journal in this newsletter of your child(ren)’s first day of school. Also, thank you to our 4K parents for spending this week meeting your educators and exploring your child’s home away from home. The smiles and energy have been infectious.

We are part of a better community and that has also been tested and proven again this week. Our PTO/A’s at the buildings have offered treats for families and staff, carefully placed “Welcome Back” signs, and offered support through small gratitudes that do not go unnoticed. Our Noon Lions Club sponsored “Kids in Klassrooms” and fulfilled wish lists for a variety of educators so they can provide engaging tools for their learners.

Part of a better community has also been demonstrated by many of you as you have pivoted quickly to help transport your child(ren), neighbors and/or friends to school. The shortage of bus drivers is no surprise to anyone in the state or nation, however, how it hit our community on short notice was a surprise for us all. We are fortunate to have a team of families that are helping transport. Our internal team continues to work diligently to process the ongoing updates we are receiving from our bus vendor on driver shortages or illness. We know such news is not ideal to receive as a family. Please know it is also very difficult for us to deliver. When you receive such communications, please know that we have exhausted all options, that we understand the hardship it may put your family and our staff under, and that we will not stop trying to find solutions. We sincerely thank you for your grace and patience. Please be aware that a bus cancellation can occur at any time. As a cautionary practice, we are encouraging all families to have a backup transportation plan in place for your child(ren).

Please enjoy what looks to be a beautiful, long holiday weekend ahead. Make memories, they stay with us forever! We are eager and excited to continue to greet your child(ren) next week!

With gratitude,

Annalee Bennin

REMINDER: Food Service Updates For 2022-23

Periodically, due to some food items not being available, please be patient and check the online lunch menus regularly for changes. We are expected to change menus multiple times a week due to issues we are facing. We appreciate your patience.

We want to remind families about what school lunch will look like for the 2022-23 school year. The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) that has been allowing students to receive free meals will no longer be offering this service for free next school year.

At the start of the 2022-23 school year, school lunches will no longer be free. Prices will remain the same as they were set for the 2020-21 school year.

We highly encourage families to continue to participate in the convenient, nutritious, and cost-friendly school meals. Our lunch webpage also contains our online lunch menus for all school buildings for the 2022-23 school year.

We encourage families to complete the free and reduced lunch application which is on our website here.

Online Absence/Attendance Form

As a reminder, when reporting a student absent for any reason, please communicate this using the online absence/attendance form here. This is a NEW form this year so if you bookmarked or made a shortcut to the old form from last year, please update. If your child is out sick, the form will also collect information about the symptoms and sickness your child is experiencing so our nursing staff can respond with next steps. Thank you for taking the time to complete this form as it really helps to streamline our processes. The form is located on our website under Parent/Student Info as well as a big button on each school’s home page.
