Rosedale Elementary Newsletter
Hello Rosedale Community,
As we get closer to the end of the year, I wanted to publicly thank the Rosedale Parent Group for all the work they’ve done to support our school this year. Without their efforts, we wouldn’t have all the great family events or financial support to enrich our students’ experience here at school.
There are several board positions that will be open for the 2019-20 school year and we haven’t had many parents show interest in filling them yet. Please consider being a parent leader and continuing the amazing work that the past Parent Group members have started so that students and families can continue to enjoy all the great events here at Rosedale.

The 6th graders have been working on writing Argumentative essays on the topic “Is Boredom Really That Bad?” They walked through the process of an introduction, supporting arguments, counter-arguments, rebuttals, and a conclusion. They are working very hard to prepare for middle school writing!
Here is a sample paper by 6th Grader Romie Johnson:
Congratulations to Eden for being our sixth grade representative at the district spelling bee!
Congratulations to Daniel for being our grades 3-5 representative at the district spelling bee!

The Rosedale Fun Run is on April 11th. Don’t forget to send fun run pledge money to school with your students by April 15th. Money must be turned in by this date in order to qualify for the Pietro’s Pizza Party.
A combination of top lap runners and pledge earners will be invited to the Pietro’s Pizza Party on April 18th. The party will take place during the school day and bus transportation will be provided.
Restaurant night is coming up on Tuesday April 23rd at Chipotle located at 4530 NE Cornell Road. Fliers will be sent home the week before.
Staff appreciation week is coming up May 6-11. Information on how you can help will be sent out by email as we get closer.
The buy one get one free Scholastic Book Fair will be the week of May 20-24.
Our next Rosedale Parent Group meeting is on Tuesday May 14th. We are looking for parents to step forward and volunteer for positions on next year’s Rosedale parent group board. We can’t emphasize enough how important this is. Without the parent group there will be no more field trips, special events, PE and Music equipment, or funding for important classroom supplies like Chrome Books. Our president, vice president, secretary, and treasurer are all stepping down after two years in their positions. Please contact the parent group ASAP if you are interested. email@example.com
