End of Year Information...
Parents,
On the last day of school, students will bring home some very important information. In an envelope, students will get a copy of their report card. Additionally, students will also get Classroom Placement information. This letter will contain the child's classroom room number. Please note that from year to year, teachers change grade levels and I also have to move classrooms. There will be movement next year so please be aware that just because a teacher is in a specific room this year, that might not be the case for next year. Our school also continues to "flex" in enrollment. Certain grade levels have stayed stagnant in enrollment, others have grown, and some have decreased. All of this information is vital for classroom placement.
As I have stated previously, your reaction to your child's placement is important. If disappointed in the placement, please take the time to process the information and not react emotionally immediately. Creating BALANCED classrooms in each grade level is a difficult job and is very time consuming...and a job I take very seriously.
During the placement process, so many things are considered. Please realize that all requests can't be granted (friends to place with, students not to place with, specific teachers, etc...)
I truly believe that our classroom placement process works. I thank you for trusting me in making these decisions.

Middle School Required Summer Reading 2016
All students entering grade seven at Tamanend Middle School in the Fall of 2016 are required to read at least two books over the summer. You can view the list of requirements on Jamison’s library website (www.cbsd.org/jamisonlibrary) or Tamanend’s library website (http://www.cbsd.org/domain/364). A copy of the required summer reading list will also come home in the Wednesday folder.
When students begin the new school year, they will be required to complete an activity related to the novels they chose. Students should make sure they have completed the reading of the two books before returning to school.
