This Week at MHS
Here's what is happening the week of April 26th-30th!
Dear MHS Parents and Students,
We want to thank our PTSO and Community Partners for providing our senior class an opportunity to experience "My Real Life". It was an incredible day followed by a beautiful night at Prom. Thank you to the Prom Committee and sponsors for all your hard work!
This week continues State End of Course testing in Biology, Geometry, and Algebra 2. From this point until the end of the year, our students will be engaged in testing for EOCs, State and Local Dual Credit, AP exams, and final exams for the semester. We are quickly reaching the end of the school year!

Parents of seniors attending Pellissippi State this fall: a representative from Pellissippi will be at MHS next Wednesday, April 28 at 3:30 in the Ed Harmon room to answer questions about next steps and to ensure that your child is scheduled for an advising appointment. If your child has ANY Pellissippi questions, this is his/her opportunity to get answers!
We remind everyone that all students are expected to wear a face covering when social distancing cannot occur. We appreciate your support in caring for the health and well being of our school community.

Announcing the Maryville High School Job Board
We are pleased to announce the MHS Job Board located at https://mhs.maryville-schools.org/classrooms/career-and-technical (also see QR code below). When local employers contact MHS with job opportunities, school staff update the job board with information for students to apply. Although we created this board with MHS Work Based Learning students in mind, it is available to all students. We invite you to visit the board especially if your student is looking for employment!
What is Work Based Learning?
Work Based Learning (WBL) at Maryville High School centers on engagement from community businesses to provide authentic learning experiences for students. One of the most exciting parts of WBL is the CTE Career Practicum (WBL) course! This course allows students to gain valuable work experience and skills while earning high school credit. Local employers benefit from a recruitment pipeline that supports workforce needs. Teachers recommend students for this course and students must complete an application process with me. The application process results in WBL student hires being responsible, having good attendance, and having already taken related coursework. If you are an employer and would like to post a job on the MHS Job Board, you may either email the information to Rosanna.giles@maryville-schools.org or complete the job board form at https://forms.gle/fybSe23N81j9GV8c9. The WBL program offers equal opportunity to all qualified applicants without regard to race, sex, color, religion, national origin, or disability.
