Technology
Blooket
Welcome to the World of Blooket: a new take on trivia and review games! The way it works is that a teacher/host picks a question set and a unique game mode. Then, we generate a code that players can use to join the game on their own devices. After the game starts, players will answer questions to help them win. That’s where the fun starts, because we offer a variety of games to keep students engaged and excited! Click here to check out this super cool tool.
Student Treasures
Bring Your Students’ Stories to Life Enhance Creativity. Elevate Pride. Create a poetry class book and inspire your young writers. This project promotes student collaboration, builds self-esteem and is an easy way to incorporate educational standards. It’s as easy as taking an existing writing lesson and putting the final draft on our paper. Watch their faces light up when they find out they’ll become published authors. Virtual Bookshelves
This month we celebrates Autism Awareness with a virtual bookshelf. This bookshelf is in no way exhaustive. We have been very careful to include books that truly represents autism and individuals with autism. It is just a small collection of the great read alouds available that help us to understand autism. These books will also help students understand that no matter how different we are, we all want to be included. Let this just be the beginning of our understanding and growth. Michigan Learning Channel
The Michigan Learning Channel is a statewide project connecting all Michigan students with high-quality distance learning content via a 24-7 broadcast television channel, streaming service, and robust website with on-demand video and supplemental materials. The channel offers instructional programming for children in grades Pre-K–3rd Grade, adding grade levels and subjects over time. The channel is operated by Detroit Public TV and is a partnership of all six Michigan PBS stations. The channel’s content has been developed in conjunction with Michigan’s educational community, and each station is working closely with local schools to engage teachers, principals, and families in using PBS’ educational content. Michigan Electronic Library
Michigan eLibrary: eJournals
The Michigan eLibrary (MeL) has a wide range of free eResources to support teaching and learning at all levels. The eJournal portal on the MeL landing page gives users access to all the academic journal, magazine and newspaper subscriptions that feed the individual databases. This allows users to go directly to the title of their choice to retrieve the most recent or entire collection of articles in a particular publication. A list of publications is relatively easy to create and share with students and staff. Watch this Screencastify to learn how.
