The Weekly Jr. Oiler

Dwyer Future Jr. Oiler Road Show

This week, Dwyer administration along with some of our electives, went out to all our feeder elementary schools. We talked about what to expect in middle school, what a 6th grade schedule looks like, and answered all the questions that the nervous 5th graders had. I think by the end of each visit, the nerves had subsided and the excitement had begun! We even did some trivia and gave out Dwyer swag!

Our combined band and orchestra performed a few songs, Riptide A Cappella sang, and the Show Choir danced and sang as well. A few ASB students spoke of their transition to middle school and what they love about Dwyer. It was great to see the 5th graders respond so well to the current Dwyer students! We are very excited to welcome all our incoming 6th graders to our campus in early June.

As a reminder, current 5th, 6th, and 7th graders have until Wednesday, March 28 to choose their elective for next year. The option for Zero Period will not be available until late May or early June. If you are interested in Zero Period, please just pick the two electives you want as choices 1 and 2.

Elective Choices

Current 6th and 7th Grade students are in the midst of choosing electives for next year. Please make sure to go online with your child by Wednesday, March 28. If students are interested in Zero Period, please choose the 2 electives as choices 1 and 2. The Zero Period sign-up list will be emailed and posted in late May or early June. Students who have not chosen their elective by March 28 will work with administration to choose before Spring Break.

District Annual Survey

The window for the District's Annual Survey is open through March 30. Your child should have brought a packet home already with information. You can also access the survey here. As of Friday, we have 66% of students that have completed the survey here at school and 7% of parents (not including paper surveys). Our goal is to increase our parent participation from last year (which was 17%). If you need further assistance, please call the office.
