Attention Parents!!
Attention Parents of Take T.W.O.s, Little Lambs, Children's Worship and Kingdom Kids!
Sunday, May 23 is the last day for AM Children's Ministry. The Children's Ministry T.E.A.M decided to NOT run the children's ministries for the summer. If you are a volunteer in Children's Ministry, please take this summer to refresh. We would love to have you serve in the fall!
Parents, this is an opportunity for you to begin training those little ones what it is like to worship with the big church. And, we will support and encourage you.
Note to our parents
We understand raising little ones is hard and, comes with many frustrations. But, your church family invites you to remember this:
RELAX: God put the wiggle in children. They wouldn't be children if they sat perfectly through the entire service. We understand, and it's okay.
SIT WHERE YOU'RE COMFORTABLE: If you feel that you need to sit more towards the front to keep the children engaged, please do. They like to see what's happening too!
GREET: We want to know your kids. Please encourage them to greet and be greeted by church family. Fun idea - start a "weekly fist bump" with someone that is seated near you regularly.
EXPLAIN: Use this time to quietly point out parts of the worship service. Is there a baptism or Profession of faith? It's never too early to discuss these things at home. Kids take in everything they see and hear.
WORSHIP: If you listen to some of our worship songs at home your little ones may be ready to praise in the service! And, what a blessing to praise our Father with our children!
SERMON: This is the hard part. Kids struggle with quiet learning. A small book, drawing pad or even some fruit snacks might save the day. Also, remember we do have toddler bags available if you happen to forget something from home.
We want you to feel comfortable with your kids in the church service. Jesus taught us this in Matthew. In Matthew 18:1-5 it is written:
The Greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven
At that time the disciples came to Jesus and asked, “Who, then, is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?”
He called a little child to him, and placed the child among them. And he said: “Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Therefore, whoever takes the lowly position of this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. And whoever welcomes one such child in my name welcomes me.
