Dear Parents and Friends of our school Kia Ora/Bora Da/Konichi Wa/Hello
Welcome back to Week 9 :)
We would just like to say a big thank you to all our families. We really appreciate you keeping us up to date with covid/isolation in your homes and we also really appreciate you keeping your children home with autumn sniffles, coughs and runny noses. We continue to keep our classrooms ventilated and now that it is cooling down we will use the heat pumps but have also been advised to keep windows open at the same time . . . so it will be a good idea to make sure your children pack a few extra layers to ensure they are warm in the classrooms.
As of today we have 12 positive cases attached to our school. Most of the positive cases became positive after being in isolation which means most of our cases have been low risk of transmission at school. We also have a small number of tamariki and their whanau isolating. Just a reminder that whilst isolating and if your tamariki are well then they do have home learning that they can access via our school website: HOME LEARNING If you have any queries or questions about this please contact your child's classroom teacher.
We have been supplied some child and adult sized surgical masks from the Ministry of Education if you require any masks for your child for school please contact the office and we can provide you with some.
Relief Cleaner required. if you are interested or would like to know more please contact the office.

WACKY HAIR DAY - FRIDAY 8TH APRIL
CYCLE SKILLS - 4th & 5th April
Children will need to have their bikes, helmet and covered in shoes to participate in this day. If your child does not have a bike or you are unable to get a bike to school for this there will be 3 small bikes(not suitable for Rooms 1 and 2), 10 medium and 5 large bikes we can use from the bike trailer that Jono will bring with him. Can you please contact the office if your child cannot bring a bike to school for this day.
Monday 4th April -Rooms 1, 2 and 4
Tuesday 5th April - Rooms 3, 4 and 5
What will be covered:
- Get students to do a quick bike/brake check.
- Get Glenn & Zoe to check seat heights
- Demonstrate getting on and off a bike safely (leaning bike away from live lanes etc)
- Demonstrate the cycle course with either Glenn or Zoe calling out each activity or obstacle.
- Students follow Jono 2nd time around and then Jono, Glenn & Zoe help them navigate the course themselves, with some emergency stops, blocked roundabout exits and hand signals thrown in to create added learnings.
- For those very competent and cruising around course, there will be an opportunity with about 10 minutes to go (if there is time) to head out on the field for some races.
- For those that cannot ride or are not confident or competent our staff will work with them away from the main group so they are relaxed and not put under any pressure
