Cardinal News
May 8th - May 17th (Final Edition)
Vision
At East Central Junior High we are committed to preparing students academically and socially to be self-sufficient, contributing members of the community with plans for a successful future.
Good evening and Happy Mother's Day to all of our mothers. I hope everyone had a great day celebrating the amazing women that have shaped us into the people we are today. Mothers are some of our first teachers in life and their impact can be felt in many different ways and across many generations. So again, to all of the women and especially our mother or mother figures, thank you for all that you do!
I can't believe we are down to our last Cardinal News. We have a busy seven days coming up with lots of different activities, so please pay close attention to the Week at a Glance. Something of particular importance is tomorrow afternoons faculty meeting. We will spend most of our time during the meeting explaining our plan to offset the impact that the budget cuts have created. I am 100% sure that we have developed a plan that will have the least amount of negative impact on our students, our staff and our school as a whole.
In other news, we had a very successful week this past week. Our girls soccer team finished their season with a dominating win over Clinton and our boys soccer team was just as dominating in a 10-0 win that clinched their second undefeated season and second City Championship. We also had a great performance from our beginning and advanced band as well as our Mariachi band. During the Mariachi performance our very own Rose Alvarrez led the vocals and sounded great.
It is very important that we finish the final week and two days strong by holding true to the school wide procedures and expectations that we have established throughout the year. Please make sure to prepare engaging lesson plans through the next seven days. This is a great time to try some creative new ideas that maybe you didn't have time to plan out and implement during the school year. I look forward to another great week and I will see you tomorrow.
