Esther F Garrison School for the Arts News You Can Use
From the Principal's Desk
Happy LAST WEEK OF SCHOOL!! This is Principal Parks with news you can use. Welcome to the FINAL week of learning for the school year at Esther F Garrison School for the Arts where creativity and critical thinking prepare our students for 21st century living and where a love for the arts make the difference! Thank you for an amazing school year full of support and grace.!
Celebrations have been planned all week to include Backpack Book pickups for Pre-K-3rd grade and a 5th grade bridging drive through on Tuesday. Dress your car and bring your smiles to celebrate with our children.
Students will begin returning devices this week. If a student is participating in summer EMBRACE, they may keep their laptops until summer camp is complete for them. Please see the SMORE for additional information on device returns for students. If you would like to return a device, but are not able to get to the school during regular business hours, please fill out the form at this link and someone will contact you: https://forms.gle/4HSjHW7ab8KNn75cA Devices not in use for summer camps must be returned.
Library books are due this week. Please return during your drive through celebrations/computer drop offs or visit the school.
School begins at 7:40 each day. Gates close at 7:35 so that students can be in their seats with their breakfast to start the day.
Please continue to monitor the Garrison website and Facebook page throughout the summer. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out via email or contact the school.

Hello Gators! We hope everyone is still staying healthy. Continue to be active for at least 60 minutes a day especially with Summer approaching; make half of your plate veggies and fruits; drink more water and limit sugary drinks.
AS SUMMER APPROACHES, KNOW HOW TO STAY SAFE THIS SUMMER AND BEAT THE HEAT
TIPS FOR PREVENTING HEAT-RELATED ILLNESSES
STAY HYDRATED
Drink Plenty of Fluids: Drink more fluids, regardless of how active you are. Don’t wait until you’re thirsty to drink.
- Warning: If your doctor limits the amount you drink or has you on water pills, ask how much you should drink while the weather is hot.
- Stay away from very sugary or alcoholic drinks—these actually cause you to lose more body fluid. Also avoid very cold drinks, because they can cause stomach cramps.
Replace Salt and Minerals: Heavy sweating removes salt and minerals from the body that need to be replaced. A sports drink can replace the salt and minerals you lose in sweat.
- If you are on a low-salt diet, have diabetes, high blood pressure, or other chronic conditions, talk with your doctor before drinking a sports beverage or taking salt tablets.
Keep Your Pets Hydrated: Provide plenty of fresh water for your pets, and leave the water in a shady area.
HANDWASHING IS STILL ONE OF THE BEST WAYS TO PROTECT YOUR FAMILY AND YOURSELF FROM GETTING SICK even though COVID-19 NUMBERS ARE DECLINING
REMEMBER: TO SOCIAL DISTANCE 6 FEET AND WEAR THE APPROPIATE FACE MASK
