TRACY'S MESSAGE

Kia Ora Ano

I hope you are all ok in your bubbles and taking the time to do some of the things that you love. Again, it is lovely to see how engaged our learners are in their on-line learning platforms and google meets.

At level 3 of the COVID-19 response plan, what we currently know is that schools are to provide supervision to those learners whose whānau (people who live in their bubble) are required to attend their physical workplace because they are essential workers.

Due to the COVID-19 level 3 restrictions it is intended that most learners will still be at home. It is important for you to understand that there will be no instructional or guided learning for those learners who are attending school, they will bring their own device to school and will continue to engage in the online learning activities that their classroom teacher has set.

Please complete the following google form regarding level 3 learning:

https://forms.gle/dqLyRJU7vgvaqFJz8

If your tamariki will be entering our school bubble, we will contact you once level 3 restrictions are confirmed and will plan our school bubbles from there. Our priority is to ensure that our staff, their whānau, our learners and whānau are safe at COVID level 3 at our school. Feel free to contact me if you’d like to talk about this.

I read this recently and it really resonates given our current circumstances!

‘Sunshine is not cancelled, spring is not cancelled, love is not cancelled, relationships are not cancelled, reading is not cancelled, devotion is not cancelled, music is not cancelled, dancing is not cancelled, imagination is not cancelled, kindness is not cancelled, conversations are not cancelled…Hope is not cancelled.’

I hope you all find something to do today that makes your whānau smile.

Take care and see you soon.

DRS MESSAGE

We are a bit up in the air as to when we will be able to gather for the planned Parish/School Sunday Mass + Baptism and our Grandparent’s Mass.

We will be in touch with more details when we are able.

Beatitudes for a Global Pandemic

This year the education resources for Social Justice Week highlight the Beatitudes from Matthew 5:1-12. The theme is ‘A Culture of Encounter: Be the Church’. It is about encouraging us to BE the Church through our daily lives and the way we encounter others. This makes the following video ‘Beatitudes for a Global Pandemic’ very fitting.

Caritas Lockdown Challenge

While we are staying home, now might be a good time to take part in the Caritas Challenge (with adaptations for staying at home). This is an annual event to demonstrate solidarity with those living with poverty or injustice.

Please be sure to send any pictures and videos through to:

vanessa.mccormack@sfds.school.nz and check out he link below!

Message from the Parish

Last Sunday morning a number of our parish community came together via Zoom to share liturgy. It was wonderful to join with others to be part of the Liturgy of the Word. Different people took different roles. We had people singing the opening hymn, singing the psalm, doing the readings and Elizabeth reading the Gospel and doing a short reflection on it.

Thanks to everyone who made it possible.

We are keen to continue doing this while we are unable to come together at church, so if you want to volunteer as a proclaimer, singer or help to organise, please email Elizabeth Julian from the St Anne's liturgy group on e.julianrsm@gmail.com

We will send information out later in the week in the Parish Newsletter for next Sunday's Liturgy so that everyone who wants to be part of it can join in.

Liturgy Committee

PLEASE NOTE ALL PREVIOUSLY PLANNED ACTIVITIES ARE DEPENDANT ON COVID LEVEL CHANGES AND WE WILL ADVISE RESCHEDULED DATES AS INFORMATION IS RECEIVED. We appreciate your understanding at this time.
