March of Dimes

Mission

The March of Dimes is a non-profit foundation in the United States that works to improve the health of mothers and babies. It was founded by Franklin D. Roosevelt on January 3, 1938. They strive to educate people about birth defects and how you can try to prevent them. Also they have campaigned to educate people about premature birth, they have supported research for both of these causes. In doing so, we are hopeful that someday there will be a cure.

Local Impact

Volunteers and staff play a vital role in improving maternal and child health in their communities. March of Dimes chapters assess local maternal and child health needs and plan, fund, implement and assess the impact of community interventions to improve the health of mothers, infants and children.
