Rocket Spotlight

Exploring Early Explorers!

Mrs. Squires' fourth grade students were assigned an explorer to research via Google classroom. After research was completed, they collaborated with other classmates to compile their findings and create a "life sized" portrait of their explorer. They traced a group member's body and designed the explorer together. Be sure to check out these "life sized" portraits outside the fourth grade classrooms.

Thankful for Science!

Mrs. Bryant's third grade class has been learning about the states of matter: solids, liquids, and gases. Their exploration included mixtures and solutions and some of their benefits in daily life. For the finale of their studies students combined an array of ingredients using their understanding of mixtures and solutions. With the catalyst of heat they "cooked" these ingredients and created a "Thanksgiving" feast!

Last Remains

Sixth grade students in Ms. Colbert's science class examined owl pellets --undigested material an owl spits up. They used their findings to make connections and better understand the food webs and energy flow in the owl's ecosystem.
