Lovin's School Council
One of the most important opportunities for our staff and community to work together is through our School Council. School Council gives parents, educators, and local businesses an opportunity to serve as an advisory group to help support and improve student achievement.
The terms of four of our members are coming to a close. Therefore, we are now accepting nominations for representatives to serve a two-year term (2016-2018). We invite all interested parents, businesspersons or guardians of students enrolled at Lovin to step forward to serve the educational interests of our students through School Council. Those excluded from serving on the School Council are parents or guardians who are also employees of the school and any personnel employed in an administrative position.
According to our current bylaws, meetings will be held a minimum of four times through-out the school year from 7:30-8:30 AM in the Lovin Conference Room. If you are interested in placing your name on the ballot, please complete the online application which can be found on our website. The process is easy! Just look for the link under the News section of our home page. Complete the application and hit Submit. Nominations must be submitted no later than Monday, May 2, 2016.
Elections will be held in the main office on Friday, May 6, 2016. Votes may be cast from 7:30 AM until 3:00 PM. All votes must be submitted in person and only one vote per person is permitted. Votes received electronically will not be accepted.
I hope you will consider being a part of this vital group. Feel free to email me if you have any questions.
Student Placement Procedure
Dear Parents or Guardians,
The purpose of this letter is to share our plan for placing students for the 2016-2017 school year. We have a process in place that we take very seriously. There are several criteria we consider to ensure academic success for all our students. Some of the criteria include: gifted, gender, special needs, and class size.
My job is to ensure that there is a highly-qualified, passionate teacher in every classroom who believes that all students can learn, and challenges each child to meet his/her potential. Each teacher provides a safe and secure environment for students, and each teacher works with the others on the grade level to plan rigorous yet differentiated lessons.
However, even though our teachers provide input on unique student needs, if you have a concern, we want you to be able to share those concerns with us as well. If you would like to fill out a Student Placement Information form, please stop by the main office to pick one up. All forms are due no later than May 5. We will not be able to accept any forms after that date. The form allows you to write about the type of learning environment that will be most successful for your child, along with any additional information that should be considered. Please know, we will not be able to honor special requests for specific teachers.
Thank you for your support. Working together builds a stronger school and community.
