Area Softball Tournament
The Area Softball Tournament continues today. Our Lady Trojans take on the Lady Bucks of Buckhorn again today at 3 p.m. in Athens. We want to see the Trojan Nation in Athens! Let's go, Lady Trojans!
SENIORS: Cap & Gown Pick-Up
Cap and gowns can be picked up by remote students on May 12th in the cafeteria from 1 to 2 p.m. and in front of the school from 4 to 5 p.m. Enter through door 44 to the left of the back courtyard.
***Seniors in school (traditional students) will pick up their cap and gown during lunch in the cafeteria on May 12th.

Dates: May 10-21, 2021 (each school day)
Training Days: May 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 17, 18, 19, 20, and 21
Team Qualifying Match Dates: May 20-21
Time: 6:15 a.m. to 7:45 a.m. each morning
Fee: Free (Student must be enrolled in JROTC at least one semester next school year.)

NEW: Senior Awards Day is scheduled for Monday, May 10, 2021, at 9 a.m. in the main gym. Due to Covid restrictions, only the parents of students being recognized for scholarships, AP classes, or dual enrollment will be allowed to attend.
Traditional seniors with scholarships, AP classes, or dual enrollment will be released from their 1st block class to attend Senior Awards Day. Remote seniors with scholarships, AP classes, or dual enrollment are encouraged to attend. Please enter through door #44 in the back courtyard and arrive by 8:40 a.m. Please wear your Sunday best.
NEW: Mandatory Graduation Practice
We will have a mandatory graduation practice on May 21st at 11:30 a.m. (after seniors' last final exam) in the main gym. All seniors planning to walk at graduation must report to the gym at this time. For social distancing purposes, boys sit on east side and girls on west side. This will be the last time we will meet with seniors before our graduation rehearsal on May 26th at 7:30 a.m. at the VBC.
***Any senior with a device or textbook checked out from HG (Chromebook, MiFi, etc.) will turn them in at this time. Be sure to bring your Chromebook charger and MiFi charger as well.
***Seniors may also clear their school debts on this day if they have not already.
***We will take a senior group photo.
AP Testing Location: All of our AP tests are being given at First Baptist Church of Hazel Green. Students should follow instructions sent by their AP teachers.
Early Grad Form for Rising Seniors: If you are a rising senior and want to be an early grad in December of your senior year, fill out THIS FORM.
Cross Country: Cross country tryouts are May 10th through May 13th from 3:30 to 5:00 at the Hazel Green track. A current physical is required.

Football/Competition CHEER: Tryouts for Football/Competition Cheer have been moved to May 17-19 in the old gym.
Volleyball: Volleyball tryouts have been moved to May 17-20 (4:00-5:30) in the main gym. Enter through door #44 in the courtyard. Athletes must have a current physical in hand to try out.
HGHS Graduation: Our Hazel Green High School Graduation will be held on May 26, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. at the VBC Arena. Mandatory Graduation Rehearsal will be held from 7:30 a.m. to 8:45 a.m. at the VBC the morning of graduation. Each graduate will receive eight tickets for family and friends. Masks will be required for all graduates and guests.

Enrollment for NEW Students: PowerSchool Enrollment is now open for NEW students who will attend Madison County Schools for the school year 2021-2022. MCSS will offer two options for student instruction next school year: in-person instruction at your home school or enrollment in the Madison County Virtual Academy (grades 4-12). Attached is a newsletter containing information you will need to enroll your child in PowerSchool.
*RETURNING students will begin enrollment in June 2021.

Hazel Green Boys Basketball Camp:
DATE: Tuesday, June 7th - Thursday, June 9th
LOCATION: Hazel Green High School Main Gym
TIME: 8:00AM-12:00PM
AGES: 5-14 years old
PRICE: $75 (Price includes camp and t-shirt.)
After registration, you may pay the first day of camp by cash or check payable to HGHS.
Hazel Green Softball Camp:

*HGHS will serve lunch (and a breakfast for the next day) from 11:00-Noon each day to our remote students. There is no cost for these meals. Meals can be picked up in the car rider line at the back of the school.

Permanent Announcements
Online Application for Free/Reduced Meals: Online free and reduced meal applications are available at the link below for a faster, more confidential way to apply. A new application must be completed each school year to qualify for free or reduced meals. Your child's eligibility status carries over to the new school year for the first 30 school days, allowing parents time to re-apply. Only one application per household should be submitted, and everyone living in the house must be included on the application.

Subscriptions are $9.99 a month (can be renewed monthly) or $69.99 a year (renewed annually).
Great for family or friends who cannot attend events or those who live a distance away.
HGHS Check-Out Procedures:
- Students drop check-out notes in the basket on the attendance clerk’s desk before 8:30 in the morning.
- Notes will be verified by the attendance clerk prior to the time of check-out.
- Check-out notes need the following information:
- Student’s first and last name (printed)
- Time of check-out
- Reason for check-out
- Parent’s signature
- Parent’s contact information
Without a parent note, no student will be allowed to check out unless a parent/guardian comes to the Attendance Office to check out the student. Parent notes must be turned in to the Attendance Office before 8:30 a.m. No phone checkouts will be allowed. The only exception will be if the school nurse determines that a student is sick and needs to go home. The school nurse will then contact the parent/guardian and the Attendance Office.
*Please go to door #44 at the back of the school (near the Trojan statue and courtyard) for all check outs. No check outs are done through the front office.
