Principal's Message
Dear Loma and CT Families-
It is wonderful to have students back on campus. My top 3 highlights from last week:
kindergartners singing with their new teachers
the excitement and collaboration during choice time in 3rd grade
laughing, smiling and soaking wet 8th graders after being sprayed by the Loma Prieta Volunteer Fire Truck
We need your partnership to help the next few weeks run smoothly:
MORNING DROP OFF:
Both school campuses open at 8:05am. There is no adult supervision before 8:05. Our gates are locked until 8:05. Please contact Bridget at Kids and Co. if you need childcare before campuses open.
Thanks for your patience as we fine tune the drop-off process. We encourage you to send your child on the bus to avoid the parking lot congestion, Bus ridership information below.
UNIVERSAL MEALS PROGRAM:
All students at Loma & CT are eligible for a free breakfast and lunch daily without completing any form
You do not need to order these meals ahead of time but please let your child know if they should be getting snack and/or lunch at school. Here is a link to the district website, where you can view the August menu.
On regular school days including early release Wednesdays, a lunch will be served at lunch time. Breakfast will be served at mid-morning recess. On minimum days, when school ends at 12:30, there is no regular lunch period. We will distribute a bag lunch at mid-morning recess that students can eat at recess or after school.
Please contact our food service coordinator, Craig Ponkey @ c.ponkey@lpjusd.us for volunteer opportunities to speed up the distribution process.
Your patience is greatly appreciated as we work out the supply chain issues for the lunch & breakfast program.
Thanks for your partnership

Loma and CT Breakfast and Lunch Program
Important Dates
Please mark you calendars for these important events:
Back to School Nights:
CT: Tuesday, September 6 from 6:00-8:30
(6:00-6:30 is Mandatory Parent Sports Meeting)
Loma: Wednesday, September 7 from 6:30-8
BUSES
We encourage you to consider using our school buses to transport your child to and from school to reduce the campus traffic and increase our parking lot safety. Bus pass information is available in both school offices.
Morning Drop Off/Pick Up
Parking Lot Etiquette
- Please slow down and be patient with other drivers.
- Please remain with your car in the drop-off or pick-up area.
- Red zones are for emergency vehicles only – this is our fire lane.
- Please do not park in our designated bus loading zones.
- Always watch for pedestrians.
- Please use the right lane for picking up if you only have a CT student. The left lane is dual purpose. The left lane is for picking up at Loma Elementary OR to access the lower parking lot. Because there are cars in the left lane for pick up, it is not a through lane until you get to the top of the hill. Both lanes will stop and back up.
- Please do not cut into the drop-off or pick-up lanes.
- Consider picking up across the bridge or letting your child ride the bus. Thank you for being kind with each other in the parking lot and respecting the directions of our staff who are at the crosswalks and directing traffic.
