We have 92% of our students at Park that did not attend skills and was able to have a donut party with me. This term we are focusing on work completion and being engage in our learning. For all students that qualify will be able to attend the glow in the dark party in Dec.

Veteran's Day
Veteran's Day Assembly will be November 10 and we would like to share a slideshow with our students that includes any family members that have served or are serving in the Armed Forces! We have a slideshow that has been created throughout the years. If you have shared in the past couple of years we should still have your information and you do not need to send it again. If you are fairly new to Park, and you haven’t sent anything, we would love to have you do so if you would like to. Please include a picture, the Veteran’s name, relation to the student, and where and how long they have served. You can email this to holly.moss@nebo.edu, or you can also send a copy, that will stay with the school, to your child’s teacher. Please have this information emailed or turned in by November 1st, so we have time to prepare the slideshow.
Thank you so much for your participation!

Welcome to Upstander Week! For those new to Park, Upstander Week is our version of all the "ribbon" weeks, combined into one.
Attached is the flyer outlining all the "dress up" days and explaining what an Upstander is. Shout out to our amazing PSL and PTO for all their help and hard work in decorating our school for Upstander Week.
Students will be doing an Upstander activity in leadership academy this week as well as learning more about being an Upstander in their classrooms and during our morning announcements.
Here is a fun clip that talks about being an Upstander.Be an Upstander - Prevent Bullying: A NED Short
What is Bullying?
In my 20+ years as an educator, it's been my experience that we overuse the term "bullying". I don't like labeling all mean behavior as "bullying". Sadly, we are surrounded by people who make hurtful choices. In fact, I am pretty sure we have all been guilty of being mean or hurtful in one way or another. That doesn't make us victims or perpetrators; it makes us human! Whenever I teach about bullying, I make sure to clarify the difference between mean behavior and bullying.
We ask 3 questions to determine if behavior is bullying:
1) Is it targeted or directed?
2) Is it repetitive?
3) Is it malicious? meaning, is it intended to harm
If the answer to all 3 questions is "Yes", then that behavior needs to be reported to our administration immediately!
After differentiating the difference between mean behavior and bullying, I have also found it helpful to encourage students to respond to mean behavior as they would bullying:
-Be a buddy
-Interrupt
-Speak Out
-Tell Someone
