ELM MIDDLE SCHOOL’S WEEKLY NEWSLETTER
November 18, 2022
Principal's Message
Greetings Elm Families,
We hope everyone had a wonderful week. It's that time of year where I'm always conscious to take time to reflect on the things I'm most thankful for. While my list is pretty consistent every year, Elm Middle School is at the top of it. This community brings so much enrichment to my life, and for that I am forever grateful. Our school community is certainly a special one and continues to grow and flourish with each day. Thank you for everything you all bring to our Elm family; it is truly outstanding to see how when a community comes together anything is possible. I hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving filled with, food, family and everything you cherish.
Our first trimester is coming to an end, and our next Cougar Connections will be on 11/28/2022. If you receive an invitation, we strongly encourage your students attendance, as an opportunity to receive extra support to finish the trimester strong. Talk with your students over break to have them makeup work, or get any stray assignments turned in.
Please take a moment and look at jostenspix.com and our school code is FE11022 for ordering of photos. Also purchase your Elm P.A.T. gear here! and Elm Middle School gear here or here for a limited run!
Please take a few minutes to read through this week’s Cougar Courier. As always, should you need anything, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me directly. Have a fabulous weekend and Thanksgiving break! #TeamElmStrong
Most Sincerely,
Ms. Ashley Groeneveld

Elm Course Selection -
Thank you to all the parents who came out for our Course Selection night at Elm. I got the opportunity to meet with many different parents to discuss, my favorite subject, curriculum and instruction. Many inquired about accelerated classes, career studies, and the intervention supports we provide. Other inquired about volunteer opportunities and how they can support our school. It was great hear your ideas and to offer information to you all. A pivotal component to our students success is parental feedback; you are an integral part of our team.
It is my hope that all our families have a healthy and happy holiday season. Please reach out with any inquiries regarding course selection.
Go Cougars!

Dean's Den
As the weather gets colder, here is some information on arrival:
-Any morning where there is snow, rain, or the temperature is below 32 degrees, students should come into the building for arrival.
-All doors will be open at 7:30.
-At 7:30, students are allowed to attend breakfast or go to the gymnasium. No students are allowed at their lockers until 7:45.
Also, as the holiday season approaches, we want to make sure we are aware of any students who will be out of school for an extended period of time. If you know you will be out of town for vacation during the weeks we are in school, please contact Elm Attendance through email or phone to let us know. This way, we can mark the student absent. Also- make sure your child is reaching out to their teachers in order to get any work they would be missing.
Have a nice weekend,
