A Word From Principal Jung
Falcon Nation,
These last few days have been tough for Falcon Nation. However, during difficult times, we get to witness the unwavering commitment of our NFHS staff, resilience of our #trueNorth students, and the coming together of our Falcon Nation family. For that, I am extremely blessed and grateful. We all have a part in ensuring that North Forney High School is the best and safest high school it can be. I will do everything I possibly can to ensure the safety of all students and staff. That is why I am here.
Spring break begins this upcoming week. I hope everyone has a restful spring break. As a reminder, we have early release today at 1:15pm.

Lions Club Scholarship opportunity!
Applications are now open for the Forney Lions Club Scholarship! Click this link to access more information on this opportunity and the application form. All forms are due to the Counselor's Suite on or before April 20.
Dual Credit Scholarship opportunity! The 2020-2021 FEF Dual Credit Scholarship Application is now open! This scholarship is for anyone interested in taking a Dual Credit course for next school year. To apply, click this link. The deadline for applications is March 24.

Congratulations, Falcon Theatre!
On top of the team's success, Bella Machia (lights/sound operator) was awarded All-Star Technician while William Aceytuno (Puck) and John Obi (Oberon/Theseus) were awarded All-Star Cast. Shatorey Watson took home Most Outstanding Performer for her portrayal of Helena.
Also, a huge shoutout to Bill Jones for stepping in this year as our Technical Theatre Director and transporting the group to and from the contest.
The next contest will be held March 24 at Joshua High School.

To celebrate Black History Month, we hosted Faces of Success, a presentation series aiming to inspire our students and staff. The month concluded with the annual Black History Month Program, A Serious Moment in Time: Take 4.

Ms. Cathy Lamb's Principles of Education students always extend a helping to our other teachers during the school day.

Last Friday, Mrs. Burrow's English class took some time to engage in Musical Books with our librarians to help introduce new books into students' reading rotations.

Congratulations, Stuco for making school history! At this year's spring conference through the Texas Association of Student Councils, our Student Council received numerous awards and recognitions for their hard work throughout the year:

Forney Film Festival
Calling all movie fanatics! The first Forney Film Festival is taking place on Thurs., April 7! Film submissions are open to all students interested in participating. The festival will include screenings, an award ceremony and a roundtable with industry professionals. The film submission deadline is March 27. Questions can be answered using the Film Festival email account at the bottom of the poster below.

NFHS Top Moments of the Month
Post With The Furthest Reach
In February, we celebrated former NF student-athlete Armani Watts for his Super Bowl win with the Kansas City Chiefs. The Facebook post highlighting this #excellence reached over 5,800 Facebook users and had 700 engagements. Once a Falcon, Always a Falcon!
Post With The Highest Engagement
The February Facebook post with the highest engagement is one showcasing true student #excellence. Senior Mia Evans conducted a presentation on the "Mamba Mentality" in honor of the late Kobe Bryant. She challenged our students and staff to embrace this mentality in a way that fits their own lives and develop a strong self-awareness. The post had over 285 reactions, 348 photo views and over 39 comments.
Top Tweet of February
The top Tweet of the month was a recap of the Feb. 14 pep rally, highlighting the many successes of our boys' and girls' basketball teams, our swimmers and divers, our nationally ranked cheerleaders, our Grand Champion Sapphire Strutters and Royals, our award-winning drum-line, our January Student of the Month and a very special Faces of Success recipient, Dr. Patricia Demps! The Tweet earned over 5,700 impressions.

Falcon art finished up last week at the Kaufman County Fair with 21 First place ribbons in the Creative Arts competition. North Forney sent 34 works of art to compete this year. One of our artists, Ariana Montemayor, received First Place for her painting and also won Best of Category!
