Definition of portable devices
A mobile device (also known as a handheld device, handheld computer or simply handheld) is a small, hand-held comput,er device typically having a display screen with touch input and/or a miniature keyboard.
Types of Portable Devices
Laptop
Portable and compact personal computer with the same capabilities as desktop computer.
Notebook
A small compact portable computer, Notebook for recording appointments and things to be done, etc., personal computer that can easily be carried by hand.
Netbook
A small portable computing device, similar to a notebook. However, it has a smaller form factor and comes with more limited features. What differentiates a netbook from a notebook is its physical size and computing power.
PDA
Short for personal digital assistant, a handheld device that combines computing, telephone/fax, Internet and networking features. A typical PDA can function as a cellular phone, fax sender, Web browser and personal organizer.

Magnetic storage
A medium for holding information such as tape and disk. The medium can be erased and reused over and over again.
