News and Information

Hello Ball Ground Families,

What a busy but fun week we had last week! The Turkey-a-Thon fundraiser to support Cherokee Thanksgiving was a huge success! See below for more information. We wore our Tribe colors on Tuesday, yellow and blue for Down Syndrome awareness on Wednesday, and our Tribe colors again on Friday during our Q1 Tribe Assembly where we recognized outstanding students and announced the top tribe. We hope your children came home Friday talking about what a great day they had! It was the first week since March of 2020 that school felt almost like it did before the pandemic struck. We know that we aren't out of the woods yet with this virus, but we are thankful for opportunities to provide our students with as normal a school year as possible. Learning is very important, but students learn best when they are happy and creating fun memories!

Have a wonderful week!

Melinda Roulier,

A Note from our Counselor

Dear Ball Ground Family,

Some families in our Ball Ground community have faced many challenges during the past year. In an effort to assist our families in need during the upcoming holiday season, several local agencies have reached out to the school to offer assistance. This program is designed to assist parents or guardians by purchasing clothes and toys or games for their children.

If your family is one of the many having difficulty providing for your children during the holiday season, we would like to offer some assistance with holiday purchases. Please contact Ms. Bridgewater, our counselor, via phone at 770-721-5900 or email at if you or your family are interested in receiving holiday help. Thank you!

Amanda Bridgewater

WOW! We set a goal of raising $500 for Cherokee Thanksgiving, an organization that provides meals for families in need. That goal was shattered as you all went above and beyond to raise a whopping $2,419!!! Mrs. Roulier lived up to her promise and dressed up like a turkey at the beginning of the Tribe Assembly. She, along with the help from the teachers, did a little dancing to celebrate the results from this charitable fundraiser! In addition, we will be providing a doughnut party on Monday morning for the 5 classes below who all raised over $100.

  1. Hardin- $458
  2. Gudnason- $308
  3. Garrison- $195
  4. Haynes- $170
  5. Grella- $155

Thank you so much to all the Ball Ground families who donated and helped make this such a huge success! Special thanks as well to the 5th Grade teachers and students who helped organize and manage everything!
