Falcon Choir Update: 7th/8th Grade

Thank you for your contribution in assuring the success of our program this past semester. What a joy it is to make music with your students every day and we are excited to share our songs with you!

7th/8th Grade Winter Concert

Thursday, Dec. 14th, 6:30pm

Students are instructed to practice their music at home. I've uploaded youtube recordings of all of our songs to our choir website.

Concert Day Schedule

Our 7th/8th Grade Winter Concert is next week-- Thursday, December 14th at 6:30 at ALVIN HIGH SCHOOL. Students will be dismissed after school at regular time, but are required to be back in their assigned seats AT ALVIN HIGH SCHOOL at 5:30pm. However, like our previous concert, the doors will not open until 6:10. The students will be rehearsing from 5:30-6:10 and we do not want to ruin the magic that happens behind the scenes. Please plan accordingly. Carpools are a LOVELY thing! Once the concert is over (around 7:30), all students are dismissed. Please plan accordingly.

Bus riders (and students without rides)

We encourage all singers to GO HOME at regular dismissal and then go to the high school at 5:30 so they can get a snack and get some homework done.


I understand some bus riders will not be able to go home and come back. If this is the case, please try to find a car pool. In special cases, we will allow students to stay after school with us. Please send me an email (and a FJH Choir Permission Slip if you have not already done so) ASAP if you cannot find a ride for your student. The cafeteria will provide meals for students at 4:05 and we have a bus that can transport 50 students to the high school.

Concert Grading

Just as our last concert, your student will receive one major grade for concert etiquette, one major grade for punctuality/uniform, and one major grade for concert performance. Please speak with your student about how their behavior affects their grade.

Concert Attire for Students

Attire for girls:

  • Black choir dress (provided by choir program)
  • Black closed toe shoes without heels (NOT provided)



Attire for boys:


  • Black tux pants, black dress shirt, blue choir tie (all provided by choir program)
  • Black closed toe shoes, black socks (NOT provided)



We will check out all uniforms to your students on Monday. We have been very busy fitting, dry-cleaning, labeling, and sewing in bar codes on all uniforms.

ALL STUDENTS ARE TO RETURN THEIR UNIFORM THE DAY
AFTER THE CONCERT FOR A GRADE. This is new this year.
