Catechist's Corner
September 15, 2017 Emmaus Catholic Parish
Thank you!!
What an incredible 1st week of classes! Thank you for all the time and work you have been giving to these young children & their families! Your excitement to share the Word of God shines through and is contagious! Continued prayers and you begin this incredible journey and build a small faith community from your class!
Family Mass - 10:30 Mass Sept 17th
- If you can help serve at Sunday Family Mass, please fill in available spots!
- We have children reading, greeting and serving!
- Let's all wear our "Can't beat the real thing" catechists shirts!
Rooms & Snacks
Rooms - all rooms are shared with different ministries. It is very much appreciated if all use the check list below:
- Clean-up - all tables should look like picture by front door & chairs stacked
- Trash - please take out trash to bin in the walkway & replace bag with new one (there are extras in trash can)
Snacks - are permitted / only water to drink...please consider the following if you are having snack:
- tie it in to your lesson, please don't use as a reward
- try to have healthy snacks (limit candy)
- Sunday classes - remember children are going to Mass, we don't want chocolate-stained-faces and then coming off the sugar high during Mass. Hopefully, they are coming fed and maybe don't need a snack.
- be careful about food allergies, let's try to keep as simple, healthy as possible
- consider giving treat to parents, and they can give to children on the way home
Sunday Mass Readings
This is a great resource for your family & the classroom. It has a few pages of helpful dialogue and/or reflection for every week. You can base your lesson plan around this! Pick one up in the resource room!
LifeLong Catechesis
I will try to highlight a great resource. This one has been shared already but want to be sure it is not missed by anyone! LifeLong Catechesis can help you plan your lesson as well.
Google Shared Folder
If you have not visited the shared folder, click here to take a look: 2017 Catechist Resources
