Monday: use absolute value to determine the distance on the coordinate plane in order to find side lengths of polygons
Tuesday: draw polygons on the coordinate plane, given the coordinates for vertices and find the area of the enclosed region by decomposing or composing polygons with known area formulas.
Wednesday: determine the perimeter and area of polygons on the coordinate plane and distance, perimeter and area in the real world
Thursday: Volume of right triangles and prisms, Volume with fractional edge lengths and unit cubes
Friday: From unit cubes to deriving formula for volume
Science
Students are finishing up the construction of their science notebooks this week.
Mid-week will see the beginning of our focus onEarth`s Moving Plates, and how these plates cause Earth`s surface to change.
These questions will guide our inquiry in lesson one.
What forces shape the earth?
