UIL Success

Please congratulate your students for the Superior UIL Concert and Sight Reading ratings! The group received a first division from all SIX judges—the highest rating available!

Honors Band itself has 31 7th graders—students who have only been playing their instrument for just over a year—and 20 8th graders who helped lead us in the arduous process. They have worked very hard all semester for this and I am so proud of their success!

You can listen to recordings of their performances here (you will need your student's FISD email):

Thank you for all of your support!

Please help me in congratulating Mr. Davis and the Symphonic Band for their success at their UIL Contest this past week. Symphonic Band received "Straight 1's" from all judges earning a Sweepstakes trophy!! This is the highest rating a group can receive at the contest. We are incredibly proud of all the students for their hard work! Bravo!!

Future Independence Knights!

Audition information for Independence High School Band has been passed out to 8th graders!

Audition times have been posted in the band hall. Please email me if you have any questions!

There are NO sectionals this week. Enjoy time to sleep in!

Solo Contest- May 5, 2018

Students have been given solos to work on individually to perform at our Solo Contest in May. Please encourage your students to be working on this diligently as there will be little to no class time to work on it!
