Principal's Corner: Parent Updates & Reminders
Dear Parents or Guardians,
Over the winter break, district leadership closely monitored COVID-19 developments and consulted with state and local public health officials. Fulton County Schools are now facing a post-holiday surge of positive cases impacting the District's ability to sufficiently operate schools. Additionally, local hospitals report that they are near or at capacity. These developments have all been part of the decision-making process leading to the decision from the District that next week students and teachers will remain in remote learning (virtual learning). January 11th-15th, all students and teachers WILL NOT report to Brookview. Instruction will take place virtually. The District's intent is to resume face-to-face instruction on Tuesday, January 19, following the Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday.
Please note, that I will do my absolute best to keep you informed as changes are happening rapidly. Please make sure you are checking your Class Dojo, our school website, the district website (www.fultonschools.org), read our newsletters, and emails, to stay connected.
I can not echo this enough, please stay safe during these unprecedented times. Please wear your masks, stay socially distanced, avoid crowded spaces, and get tested if you have any Covid related symptoms. I am asking for your commitment to the steps necessary to stay healthy during Covid-19 for not only yourself but for others as well. With this in mind, I wanted to remind all parents that if you, someone in your home, or your child have been tested or will tested for Covid-19 due to symptoms or possible exposure, then you must complete the Fulton County Parent Covid Reporting. Fulton County Schools (FCS) in partnership with the Fulton County Board of Health (FCBOH) has introduced a new online COVID-19 Reporting Portal for parents. This online reporting process will allow for a more direct engagement between parents and FCBOH as they/we promptly respond and address student cases of COVID-19. Please use the link below and please be transparent to keep people, especially our babies, safe.

Brookview Parent & Family Engagement Plan and School-Family Compacts
Greetings Parents and Families,
Attached below, you will find our school wide Parental and Family Engagement Policy, which has been developed jointly with, and agreed on with, parents of children participating in the Title I, Part A programs. This policy was adopted by Brookview Elementary School on October 2, 2020 and will be in effect for the period of 2020-2021 school year. Brookview Elementary will distribute this policy to all parents of participating Title I, Part A children on or before October 15, 2020 and will be placed on the school website.
Also attached you will find Brookview's School-Family Compact, which was jointly developed by our teachers and parents. The compact outlines the shared responsibilities of parents, students, teachers, and administrators for student academic achievement. The compact also outlines how the school and parents will develop a partnership for student success. School-Family compacts will be placed on the school website at the beginning of the year.
