Belguim Law

Euthanasia in Belgium is defined as or states “if a person is above 18 this is considered to be an adult and they can make their own decision” this means that there is no permission needed to be euthanized in Belgium if over 18, which became a law in 2002.

United States Law

The United States definitely does not allow children to be euthanized in any state. Euthanasia is only allowed to be practice in three states for people 18 years or older. The insurance companies would rather want to taking all the money made than let the patient decide how to go about their end of life treatments.

The Facts

Euthanasia is Greek for “easy death.”

The law is named Death with Dignity (DWD) Oregon was the first state to legalize euthanasia here in the United States and was approved in 1994 and Vermont and Washington also legalized euthanasia. Washington passed their law in 2008 and it was implemented in 2009 after no credible legal challenges. Vermont became the third state with a (DWD) law in 2013. Currently in Montana a debate is happening due to a court decision which leaves the issue in doubt.
