Greetings, Sheldon family!


We are looking forward to welcoming all of our staff back to school on Monday, August 24. I hope that you have had a safe, restful summer and truly took time to be with your families and friends. Our new staff newsletter, The Sheldon Scoop, will provide important information, updates, features, celebrations and more. Please make sure you read through each newsletter so you do not miss any important announcements. I look forward to seeing all of you next week as we kick off a great 2020-21.

SISD School Board Members named finalist in 2020 for Outstanding Board Awards Program

Sheldon ISD Board of Trustees has been named one of five Honor School Boards by the Texas Association of School Administrators (TASA). Click here for the full story.

ECHS teacher Ryan McCann selected as AP reader by College Board

Sheldon ISD celebrates its first Advanced Placement Reader Ryan McCann. McCann is an AP Spanish teacher at the Sheldon Early College High School. During the summer, McCann was selected by the College Board to join high school teachers and college faculty from around the world in evaluating and scoring AP Spanish Language exam responses to ensure that they accurately reflect college-level achievement. During the process, AP readers build relationships with a network of AP teachers who exchange ideas for improving teaching and learning.

Sheldon offers Daycare On Demand for employees

Sheldon ISD is offering free childcare to school-aged children of all employees beginning Monday, August 24. Please read the parent information sheet for complete details about the program and click here to enroll your child(ren).

Professional Development Opportunities for Staff

Camp Awesome

Feeling awesome? You're in luck! Camp Awesome starts this week! Sessions provide a chance to enhance your skills for the virtual environment and earn an additional PD badge. Check out sessions here, and register in Eduphoria.

Sheldon On Demand University

There is still time to become Sheldon On Demand Certified by completing a virtual course through the Eduphoria e-course platform. This course will offer instruction on Google Suite and Zoom platforms to assist with online teaching. The online coursework must be completed by August 23.

**Course completion hours can be used as an exchange day for June 14, 2021.

Rewards for all your learning efforts

You will have the opportunity to earn three different levels of Sheldon On Demand badges. These badges include Level 1 (Red Level), Level 2 (Green Level), and Level 3 (Blue Level). We want to encourage all of our teachers to #gofortheblue and reach the Blue Level of Sheldon On Demand badges. With the completion of each level, you will receive an electronic badge that can be added to your email signature.



All professional development for Sheldon On Demand badges must be completed by September 7, 2020. If you have any questions, email juanduenas@sheldonisd.com.

Prepping for the 2020-21 school year

Parent professional development trainings coming soon

Learning at home has been new for all of us, and we want our parents and students to have a successful experience. Next week, Sheldon ISD will introduce a new opportunity for families to learn how to use the Sheldon On Demand platform with Parent PD.


Beginning August 24, every Tuesday at 10 a.m. and 6 p.m., families can tune in for parent and student training sessions at sheldonisdremote.com. From assistance with Skyward and Google Classroom to using Zoom and an iPad, each week will offer resources and tips for our families.


Help spread the word so families feel confident with learning at home with Sheldon On Demand.

Tech Tips

Sheldon to release single-sign-on feature for staff and families - My Link

This year, Sheldon ISD is introducing My Link, powered by Classlink, as a single-sign-on page where students and staff can access ALL online applications from ANY device. Stay tuned for more details and instructions in the coming weeks.

New Help Desk hours begin August 24

Beginning August 24, the SISD Help Desk hours of operation will be 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. Please submit a ticket through Eduphoria, email helpdesk@apps.sheldonisd.com or call 281-727-1399.

Remember to check both Sheldon email accounts

Sheldon ISD employees have access to Google for Education which provides them with a Google Drive, Classroom and Gmail account. It is important to remember to check your Outlook account and your Gmail account to make sure you are not missing any email communication. Your Outlook email address looks like (example: name@sheldonisd.com). Your Gmail address looks like (example: name@apps.sheldonisd.com).


You can set up your email where all Gmail messages go to your Outlook account through mail forwarding. To learn how to do this, click here. Remember, the Help Desk is here to support you. Submit tickets by clicking here or call 281-727-1399 during Help Desk hours posted above.
