LRMS: Week at a Glance

November 30 - December 4, 2015

Sayings from Sarah

Welcome Back, Radloff Family!! I certainly hope you each had a restful and wonderful Thanksgiving Break, and are now ready for "The Final Countdown" to the end of the semester. With only 15 days until we have another (and longer!) break, there is much to accomplish in the coming days. According to our latest ABC report, we still have 324 students failing one or more courses. I know you all are trying myriad ways to get kids to do more, to engage deeper, and to produce better results --- please continue to share stories of success, so that we might each grow our intervention toolbox. Also, continue to help students keep their eyes focused on the district post-tests, which are coming rapidly -- I KNOW these are on your minds; please help keep them at the forefront of our students' attention! If there's something any of the administration or I can do to support your efforts these final weeks, please ask!!!

News You Can Use

1) Kudos, Congratulations, and Good News:

Just want to issue a KUDOS to everyone who has gone "above and beyond" recently -- there have been some truly EXTRAordinary efforts, and they have certainly been noticed! You all are GREAT role models for our kids -- thank you for what you do!!!

2) End of Semester -- Parent Communication/Documentation

Please make sure that you retain ALL documentation of parent communication from throughout this first semester, particularly if any child is failing any subject. No student should fail a course without a parent receiving ample and multiple forms of communication about the student's progress as well as any interventions offered.

3) Tutoring/Make-up Work

Encourage students to participate fully in all tutoring opportunities and/or make-up work (retest) opportunities. Be clear in all communication about these opportunities. Use your C&I pages to give students other resources to gain and show mastery of the AKS.
